Empress Sahra Indio "Jah's Jewell"
The name 'Sahra Indio' was born in California. Sahra Indio, means 'resting place of the people'. Sahra was born in Philadelphia in a complex & musical family that included the sweet jazz of now legendary cousin, Clifford Brown.
Her grandfather insisted she play an instrument.
As Sahra grew up both her Grandfather's house and the clarinet were gone. The inspiring music of Bob Marley and The Wailers sparked a new understanding.
She would later 'catch a fire' on the active volcanic island of Hawaii, a place where she found the voice to sing about the beauty and the mystery of life.
Sahra reinvented herself in the Reggae band 'Jahringa' which is aboriginal for 'dreamtime'.
Sahra has performed with international Reggae stars such as, Alpha Blondy, Don Carlos, Third World, Junior Reid, Prezident Brown, Dezarie, Bambu Station, Midnite, Ikahba, Steel Pulse & Rico Rodriques.
