Sahra

R&B-Pop artist Sahra, known for her sensually sweet tone and dynamic range, is an up-and-coming singer/songwriter from Orlando, FL. Her dedication to her craft and music career started in high school when she began working with Orlando's prominent vocal coach and producer Gerry Williams. During this time, Sahra recorded her first album with GW-1 Music and performed at many high school events and local venues in Orlando, including Plaza Live Theater and The Social. After graduating as a valedictorian of Lake Highland Prep, she attended University of Miami where, despite academic pressures, continued to pursue her career as a recording artist. Although balancing her academic and music career proved challenging, Sahra recorded cover songs in her dorm room during her free time to release onto YouTube, where she gained popularity by accumulating more than 85,000 organic views on YouTube alone. While attending UM, Sahra also performed as a solo artist at a variety of collegiate events and local performing venues throughout South Florida, including Piano Hollywood, Titanic, and Julius Littman Performing Arts Theater. She graduated Cum Laude with a pre-dental degree in Psychology in 2015 and was accepted to Nova Southeastern University School of Dental Medicine soon afterward. After relocating to Orlando, Sahra began creating a buzz in her hometown with the release of her single “You Say,” leading her to receive a feature in Orlando Weekly, radio interviews with WPRK and Y100 Miami, and a headlining show at The Social Orlando. Following her first major show, she went on to land two major gigs: the first, as an opening act for UK R&B recording artist Daley and the second, as a performer on the Wall Street Main Stage at the Florida Music Festival 2016. Well on her way to becoming the first mainstream R&B artist of Pakistani descent, Sahra plans to independently release her first solo work the “SAHRA” EP in the Summer of 2017 and introduce the world to her brand of alternative R&B / experimental Pop infused with inflections of her South Asian culture.
