"Music Monday: Local Edition"

Music Monday: Local Edition
Greetings interwebs. Welcome to the Music Monday blog for this week! Last week was focused on pop punk, and the week prior was on hip hop. This week I'm shifting focus to some local acts that have been invading my iPhone's library.

Vocal Few - She'll Be Right
For Fans Of: Singer/Songwriter, Male/Female Dual Vocals
Matt MacDonald (of The Classic Crime) and his wife Kristie comprise Vocal Few. All the proceeds from "She'll Be Right" go towards their new born daughter. Crisp harmonies, smart lyrics, impeccable production, and catchy melodies. I could keep going with the positive adjectives here. For a DIY project it's amazing to see them chart on billboard, iTunes, and Amazon.

The Wild - Monsters
For Fans Of: Folk, Indie Rock
I saw this duo perform in Shoreline a few weeks back. It was actually their first show ever. What I saw was more charisma and confidence then most national acts. I can't wait to hear new music out of these guys. You may recognize lead singer Jake Weholt's voice from his old band From Aphony.

Check out their live cover of "Long Way To Nashville":

Moneta - This Is All Happening Now
For Fans Of: Power Pop, Rock
Moneta know how to come off a hiatus. They recorded a full length album, filmed a music video, had a photoshoot, and booked a comeback show all in complete secrecy. Their record release is at The Showbox (Market) on 2/10/12 with The Classic Crime, Shoreline Drive, and Vividal. Pre-order their new album now!

"Save Me From Myself" will get stuck in your head. Moneta is at the top of their game with their songwriting. I'm excited to see where this new album goes for them.

Sailor Mouth - Bridges
For Fans Of: Rock & Roll, Punk, Grunge
This band stole the show at the #BIGDADDYONELLEN event in December. You can download their "Bridges" EP for free through their BandPage. I haven't heard a band like this come out of Seattle in years. Big things in store for Sailor Mouth. - Rain City Ambience
