Alternative rock with a touch of pop and a nod to hints of old school punk rock, Sail the Boat is a four-piece band with a four-song demo that covers everything from finding oneself and coming of age to reflecting on world events and social justice. - South Bergenite

Bio

Sail The Boat came together in the fall of 2011 and has won the hearts of fans worldwide ever since, delivering fresh and original music, flawless live performances and continuing to push the boundaries of what it means to be an indie rock band in the 21st century. Based in New York City, the talented quartet made up of vocalist Glenn Haider, drummer Hyun Moraes and brothers Oji and Rudy “Jr” Bahian on guitar and bass respectively, has constantly explored innovative rhythms, melodies, song structures and chords progressions while maintaining a musical sincerity as a means to craft their “highly original” (South Bergenite) sound. The band cites its influences as artists such as Young The Giant, Local Natives, Kings of Leon, Delta Spirit, Dry The River, Matt Corby amongst many others. And while there is a nod to inspiration in the band’s records, their well-polished and well-executed live performances have landed them numerous gigs across the nation, at legendary venues such as The Stony Pony in New Jersey, Manhattan Center Grand Ballroom in New York City, World Live Café in Philadelphia and The Mint in Los Angeles. Sail The Boat’s first self-titled EP was released in the fall of 2011, shortly after the band’s formation, and after 2 years of songwriting and gigging the band finally released its highly anticipated second EP “Of The Mountains, We Were” and embarked on their first national tour in the summer of 2014 to promote the record.
