Bio

Daniel Curtis Lee has been acting since the ripe old age of 12. He’s become a household name with millions of fans across the globe. He first appeared in Ice Cube’s “Friday After Next.” Daniel secured his first lead role in a television series when he was cast as “Cookie” in “Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide” on Nickelodeon. His success on that show led him to his next major series, which he currently stars in on Disney XD. In “Zeke and Luther”, Lee plays bad boy skater “Kojo” who serves as the antagonist and comic relief on the program.

Since exposing his lyrical chops in his current role of Kojo on Disney XD’s Zeke and Luther, Daniel’s fans have been patiently waiting for the kid with the infectious smile to make his official debut as one of Hip Hop’s newest emcee.

Meticulous about his craft, Daniel wanted to make sure that he not only did his due diligence before officially releasing his first single, but also that the timing was right. Using social media and the moniker of Dan-D, Daniel launched DanDontheFly, a Youtube channel where he uploaded dozens of video of freestyles, new music from mixtapes and covers of some of his favorite emcees.

Disney followed suit by recording two cover singles: “You Can’t Touch This” and “In The Summertime” featuring Dan-D and Adam Hicks aka “A+”, co-star of the hit series “Zeke and Luther”. Dan-D also filmed promo videos for the Disney singles, which can be seen on YouTube. Before the Disney singles, Dan-D had also recorded and performed the theme song for “Bring It On: Fight to the Finish” starring Christina Milian, Cody Longo, Vanessa Born, Gabrielle Dennis, and Rachele Brooke Smith.

Older, more confident in his skills and with a little more life experiences under his belt, Daniel wanted to make sure his performance name reflected his genre of music, as well as the depth of his lyrics; hence the decision to retire the name DanD and adopt the new one of Saint Maurice.

The timing also had to be right before he would release his first single and not that everything had to perfect, but he had to have a good feeling about the music he was releasing to the hundreds of thousands of fans that had come to know him as Kojo on Disney XD’s Zeke and Luther. After all, that’s were the world first encountered his lyrical skill set.

The wait is over. Saint Maurice released his first single “Laughin” on December 27, 2011 in his home city of Jackson, Miss. “Laughin” is a clever blend of electric instruments, saturated with a memorable and catchy hook complimented by Saint Maurice’s trademark flow, that sounds as if he’s actually laughing while rapping.

Saint Maurice’s signature lyrical flow not only puts him in a class by himself, but also promises a long-standing musical career that will span all demographics and geographical boundaries. Stay tuned …
