Bio

I have always loved singing. Something about expression through song has always held my imagination. I started with piano lessons at age 8, took that for three years and then switched to trumpet for a year. Finally, I found the guitar, my first true love. I started at age 13 and by 16 was starting to compose my own songs. As a writer, I have always been ahead of the curve in linguistic comprehension and composition. I wrote and delivered a winning speech for student council president in the 7th grade. As an youth, I was drawn to poetry. This was very cathartic for me, and it wasn't long before I started combining poetry and music to make songs, not just dittys but actual songs- with structure and meaning.

So it has gone for just about 13 years or so, and now I've been a songwriter for as long as I was alive before I started. I've settled into a style all my own and draw from such great influences as Bob Dylan, Ben Harper, Bill Withers, Stevie Wonder, Jack Johnson, John Mayer, Michael Jackson, and many other songwriting pioneers. I love to perform. I think it's the only time I am my true self, though I am working on expanding that into my day-to-day life.

There are a lot of references to life, love, honesty, conflict, contradiction, spirituality, and fate throughout my songs. I try to let each song write itself through me rather than trying to impose myself, my agenda, or my 'style' on any of them. So, my body of work is somewhat diverse.

I have recorded 4 full-length albums at various home recording studios (mostly my own), often playing the roles of producer, engineer, performer, editor, etc. None of these have been released formally, yet most of my friends posess a copy of at least one of them. They are fully available to anyone who wishes to have one.

That's about all I can say, the rest is as they say 'in the pudding' so nothing left for you to do but listen. Enjoy!
