Discography

Our first album which is slated for early October is entitled "Rep Fa' God". This is the basic theme and thesis of our lives and reason for existence. We've released a sneak preview of one of the cuts from our album entitled "Old School Praise" which has gotten radio airplay and positive feedback from listeners. With songs such as "Magnify God" and "Testimony", one thing is certain about our walks with God, it's never dull!

Bio

In searching for a group name that meant something and that actually described us, many names were wrestled with. In the end, Saints of the South (S.O.S.) was the favorite. Being that we're from two of the deepest parts of southern Louisiana; Houma and Thibodaux. It seemed appropriate and rather ironic that in residence and in life we were once at the bottom but no longer. And this is for anyone who ever had challenges, obstacles, defeats or times of weariness and God has given you grace to get through it, you're a Saint of the South. You can move to a higher level regardless of where you come from. That common denominator is what brought us together. We met in college as teammates on the Southeastern Louisiana University Track team. One day while joking around, freestyle rapping, we discovered that we both liked to rap, and liked to rap for the Lord. So that was the beginning of S.O.S and every since, we've been like brothers. Our distinct difference is how well our styles compliment each other, although, they're so very different. Conversely, there is a common thread in our desire to glorify God versus the talents that He has given us. Therefore, the anointing and the presence of God and the Holy Spirit is given free course whenever we're given the opportunity to minister.
Our influences range from more traditional gospel artists such as Shirley Caesar to the more contemporary, but no less powerful Fred Hammond. Aside from the music arena, our pastor, Dr. Leroy Thompson Sr. of Word of Life Christian Center has been a firm, loving, compassionate and truthful spiritual father, who has challenged us to advance in our walk with God, our purpose on this earth and our music.
