Bio
Sâkrid (pronounced sacred), like the line-up of monstrously talented musicians of the 60’s and 70’s who were also blessed with a seemingly endless supply of gut-wrenching inspired lyrics, is one of those bands that doesn’t just step over limitations of age, class or gender—they tear through demographic boundaries like they have lava on their feet. . This is Funk-Rock at its finest.
Lead singer, songwriter and red-hot lead guitarist Khari Green, in his search for a band that could cross genres, break boundaries, and move crowds, eventually teamed up with drummer Rodney Dunton and bassist George Belton. The result was an awe inspiring musical force that is quickly rising from the depths of the underground scene.
Sâkrid has already established a loyal following at hot spots in their hometown of Washington, DC and Baltimore, and with the release of their debut CD “Heavy Soul Music”, Sâkrid is looking to expand their audience and bless music lovers everywhere with a sound that is hard to find these days.
