Sakura Klub

Sakura Klub

This is an exciting and unusual music and arts performance: Live Painting of Japanese Calligraphy and abstract ink paintings combined with Jazz influenced World and Ambient Music in a multimedia live set up with projection and animations. The band can vary from one to four or five musicians.

Claudia Speer grew up with Japanese culture due to a long lasting letter friendship of her father with a woman in Osaka. Her fascination for arts lead to her professional education and skills in graphics, Japanese calligraphy, photographing and ink painting. These skills she proved already in many exhibitions and workshops in Germany and Asia.
Her partner on stage is the multitalented musician, journalist and promoter Oliver Hafke Ahmad. Coming from a multicultural family with German, Arabian and Afro-American roots, he always absorbed music from many different sources: German Schlager and Blasmusik, US-american Soul, Funk, HipHop and last but not least Jazz and South American Salsa and Latin Music. The world receiver of his father braught a first contact with the musical sounds of the middle east. Today Oliver Hafke Ahmad is playing and composing a music influenced by the possibilities of electronic effects and digital production devices as well as the above mentioned.
