Amond Jackson is a music producer and radio host that has been making music since the age of fifteen. Amond has worked for years in a wide range of musical mediums and musical equipment to develop his own style that is not comparable to many of his peers. Amond, or AJ he is commonly called has worked as an MC, Producer, and Radio Host among other positions. The Boston native has worked with artist from around the country and help to build up emerging hip hop communities in the South. As host of the Underground Railroad 89.7 Fm in Tallahassee, Fl he helped to revive the hip hop community and a show looking for new direction after a 17 year run.
After only a year l living in Atlanta he has a made his presence known. Working in conjunction with good causes like Dilla Day and the FTP Movements Amond has helped the community here and people nationwide. During the 2009 “Dilla Day,” a day commemorating the life of James “J Dilla” Yancy, Amond serve as a coordinator for “Dilla’s Dream Camp”. This camp taught young students about music production through hands on tutorials with music professionals. Amond’s work with the FTP movement (For The People) includes co-producing a double disc compilation album in support of political prisoners. The compilation included works from Kanye West, Adam Levine, and KRS-ONE.
As Co-Host of the “Beatz and Lyrics Show” 89.3 Fm in Atlanta, Ga Amond works on one of the few true hip hop outlets in the city. As a part of his contributions to the show Amond put together the Beatz and Lyrics 10 Year Anniversary Mixtape during A3C weekend. Amond served as the producer and coordinator of the 40 people that contributed to the project. He produced the title track from the mixtape “Beats and Lyrics” featuring Cory Mo, Pill, Mike Flo and Troublesum. The song has been featured as heater of the day on Allhiphop.com and the mixtape has been on Kevinnottingham.com and A3Cfestival.com. With the release of the Beats and Lyrics Mixtape, Amond is now focusing on working on a jazz album with Kofi McDonald and continued success with the Beats and Lyrics show broadcasting 10pm to 1am 89.3 fm.
