I Feel Like a Fool

Written By: Sally King

I FEEL LIKE A FOOL lyrics and music by Sally King (copyright/control)

Ain’t seen a good looking man since I kissed you goodbye, baby
It’s like a drought out here and I’m feeling dry baby
Oh well I have to admit I must have made a mistake
I thought replacing you would be a piece of cake
Now I feel like a fool when I see what I’ve done

‘Cause we were meant to be together
Through every kind of weather
We’d had our share of the sun
But the bad times had begun

And you were always feeling down
You were no fun to be around
It kind of burst my bubble
And I had trouble in mind

You see I’d convinced myself
That I could be left up on the shelf
That I could live my life in the sunshine
All the time….. I was wrong

Ain’t seen a good looking man since I kissed you goodbye, baby
It’s like a drought out here and I’m feeling dry, baby
Oh well I have to admit I must have made a mistake
I thought replacing you would be a piece of cake
Now I feel like a fool when I see what I’ve done

I didn’t know what I was after
But I longed for greener pastures
So I decided to go
To go out and roam around

So now I’m heading for home
I’m so tired of being alone
Well I admit I was wrong
And now I’m begging you to let me in

Ain’t seen a good looking man since I kissed you goodbye, baby
It’s like a drought out here and I’m feeling dry, baby
Oh well I have to admit I must have made a mistake
I thought replacing you would be a piece of cake
Now I feel like a fool when I see what I’ve done

The Pain

Written By: Sally King

THE PAIN lyrics and music by Sally King (copyright/control)

Now that it’s over
When I see your face in the crowd
I still want to run and hold you
But I know that’s not allowed
The fire that burned within me
Is reduced to a flame
You’ve changed but the pain remains the same
You’ve changed but the pain remains the same

And when I think back
To how many times I played your fool
I realise I played the game by your rules
And now that you say that it’s over
It’s time to tell the truth
You’ve changed but the pain remains the same
You’ve changed but the pain remains the same

I’ve got to find a new distraction to get you off my mind
I’m going to get back to the action and leave you way behind
You’ve changed but the pain remains the same
You’ve changed but the pain remains the same

And now they’re talking all over town
About how I deceived you
And took you for my clown
But if they could see my misery
And how you turned the story around

You’ve changed but the pain remains the same
You’ve changed but the pain remains the same
You’ve changed but the pain remains the same
You’ve changed but the pain remains the same

You’ve changed
(you ain’t nothing but a low down dirty…)
You’ve changed
(trying to mess me around all the time)
You’ve changed
(I don’t want to see your face come around my back door no more)
You’ve changed but the pain remains the same

You’ve changed but the pain remains the same
You’ve changed but the pain remains the same
You’ve changed but the pain remains the same
You’ve changed but the pain remains

Never Love Again

Written By: Sally King

Never Love Again (sally King copyright / control)

One day you say you’re gonna leave me
Two days it started to set in
Three days it got so painful I thought I’d never love again
I’d never love again
Never love again
Chorus:
I want to ride
I want to ride high
Find you down there somewhere
find you down there somewhere
I want to ride
I want to ride high
Find you down there somewhere
find you down there somewhere
Cos I need you child, you know I need you child

For one long year I’ve been on my own
Two long years I didn’t have no-one
Three years I had no love
Four years
Thought I’d never love again
I’d never love again
Never love again

Alright alright
Alright alright
Alright alright
I’m gonna go out there
I’m gonna find you tonight
I’m gonna find you tonight

Never love again
Never love again
Never love again
Never love again

Take one long year
Take two long years
Take three long years
Take four
Never love again

Freak Flag

Written By: Sally King

FREAK FLAG Sally King copyright/control

Didn’t want to go out to work today
Just wanted to lay back and contemplate my navel
Take my face right out of the race
And put my feet right up on the table
Working every day for the dollar bill
So stressed out it’s gonna make me ill
See the bank’s got me in a bind
I’m so busy working overtime

Thinking of another place another time
When life just seemed to be easy
When we had the right to stand up and fight
For all the things we believed in
Good vibrations and getting high
Freedom of speech and an open mind
Seems the revolution’s overdue
I got the 21st century blues

Chorus
I’m gonna get my freak flag and wave it high
So proud to be a child of my time
With high esteem and veneration
For the ideals of my generation
And if peace and love gonna get me by
I’m gonna wave my freak flag
Until I die

Wondering what’s happened to the world today
Where ‘s the world that I used to live in
People everywhere are running scared
About religion and terrorism
Whatever happened to make love not war
Can anyone tell me what all the fighting is for
I just want to chill out and have a good time
Spread the love and I’m feeling fine

Chorus
I’m gonna get my freak flag and wave it high
So proud to be a child of my time
With high esteem and veneration
For the ideals of my generation
And if peace and love gonna get me by
I’m gonna wave my freak flag
Until I die

Sit Down Beside Me

Written By: Sally King

SIT DOWN BESIDE ME lyrics and music by Sally King (copyright/control)

Sit down beside me
Let me tell you what’s on my mind
Come a little closer
My arms long to hold you tight

Lay down beside me
Ooh baby you’re looking fine (so fine)
It’s been such a long time
And I want you right here
By my side

Because my lips
Want to kiss your lips
And my eyes want to drink you in
And my body is aching for you
I want to show you, I want to show you
What a woman in love can do

So lay down
And look down deep into my eyes
I’ve been waiting such a long time
And now the time is feeling right

So baby can you feel it?
Baby can you feel it too?
I’ve been sending out good vibrations
I wanna make sweet love to you

Repeat verse

So lay down with me boy
Lay down lay down lay down
‘cause you’re sure looking fine to me
come a little closer now
ooh you know I wanna make sweet love to you
come on boy
lay down, you sure look so good to me baby
I’m longing for you boy
Lay down lay down lay down

You Are THe One

Written By: Sally King

You Are The One lyrics & music by Sally King copyright/control

He saw her waiting underneath the neon sign
He checked his watch to see if he was right on time
She looked so pretty dressed up in her summer dress
His heart jumped and he said
“boy don’t make a mess of this
“take her your arms and be tender hearted
And she will follow
she will follow you”

So he walked up to her

She saw him coming and she couldn’t help but smile
She felt the goose bumps and the tingling inside
He looked so fine right from his head down to his toes
When he took her in his arms she whispered
“You are the one. You are the one”
‘This trembling in my heart, you put it there,
And I will follow
I want to go with you.

So they kissed for a very long time
For they were young
And they were in love

Chorus
Years from now, they will remember it
They will remember the way it was
Years from now, they will remember it
they will remember how they fell in love

They walked down through the city streets to the quay below
He took her hand and started dancing with her real slow
She laughed and said you sure know how to win my heart
He said you and me babe,
Let’s make a brand new start.

Let’s leave the hurt behind us, just let it go
There’ll be no more sorrow, no more sorrow

But now he looks at her through older eyes
The candlelight cannot disguise
The traces time has left upon her face
He gently takes her fingertips
To brush against his waiting lips
He says “Time cannot erase your beauty or your grace
Do you remember the way it was, the way it was?
She reaches out to touch his face
Remembering their warm embraces
She sees the boy there still in his twinkling eyes
She raises up her glass of wine
To you my love. after all this time
You are the one, you are still the one
I do remember the way it was, the way it was.

Chorus
Years go by, they do remember
they do remember the way it was
Years go by, they do remember
they do remember the way it was.
