Bio

Salpachino is not your traditional, on the wagon, chick singing, pop/rock band, this is a band from Caracas, Vene-zuela who have a powerful sound with the cherry on the frosting being the divine voice of the female lead singer who doesn’t mind getting her makeup ruined on stage.

Mostly influenced by 90’s rock, they grew up on grunge, post-hardcore and even some stoner rock, truth is it’s kinda hard to pinpoint their exact genre or style, they themselves can’t even describe the definition of their music. They just name it rock without being too pretentious, the purity and honest intentions come from the various influences from each band member making a plethora of sounds they themselves describe as “Super Rock”.

Formed in 2004, then called “Pzoom”, they released a 5 song Ep that took them to being hit radio songs nationwide, they also had a video on constant rotation in “MTVla”. They played great big festivals like: FNB 2005, UNION ROCK SHOW, Clubs from all over the country and have played alongside big Venezuelan acts like: Candy66, Skin, Alfombra Roja, Los Mesoneros, Dischord, Sonica, La Vida Boheme and much more. They have also have played as openers for international bands such as Rx Bandits and Joey Cape gaining respect from the underground crowd.

Late 2010, with the new album already recorded, they decided to change their name to “Salpachino” and move to Mexico to promote their new record with 10 back to back raw and organic songs.

“Reina contra la Máquina” is the name of the new album who was produced by Marcel Fernandez from Waipea Records and owner of Roadhouse Studios from Caracas, Venezuela, it was mixed in Remoto Studio by Ricardo Martinez also from Caracas, Venezuela and mastered by Bryan Big Bass Gardner in Los Angeles, California.

This whole recording process was captured and turned into an 8 part documentary styled webisodes where the band showed the real honest way of a recording in Venezuela.

The first single “Apocalipsis Ayer” comes with a raw and twisted video that shows the band playing and killing with a real minimalistic style and fun aesthetic.

In their short stay in Mexico City (since feb 2011), Salpachino has already played about 15 shows in the biggest most important clubs in the city, including “Club Imperial”, “Caradura”, “Tianguis del Chopo,” and they also played in the town of Puebla and Hidalgo making a name for themselves in the whole state of Mexico
