Bio
Salsambo began as a project to deliver salsa and latin jazz in November of 2006. The director, Gilbert Roman embarked upon this project using many talented musicians from New York, Los Angeles, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Mexico, Sacramento and San Francisco.
Inspired by bands and individuals such as Ray Barretto, Tito Rodriguez, Tito Puente, Machito, Willie Rosario, Bobby Valentin, Manny Oquendo y Libre, Eddie Palmieri and many others, Salsambo has developed into one of the more solid, hard-hitting Salsa/Latin Jazz bands in the west coast. The band has a strong, powerful vocal section led by Jose Ochoa of Cuba, a swinging rhythm section, and a blazing horn section that will make you move.
With enough salsa to fire up a nightclub, and enough latin jazz for the jazz scene, Salsambo is the perfect addition to any lineup in any setting.
