Salt & Samovar first played together on a tour of France in September, 2006, supporting singer D.S. Moltz's first self-titled album. Upon returning, the band built up a local following with performances mostly in & around their New York City home. They have also toured the Northeast & California. Past Shows include dates with Clap your Hands Say Yeah, State Radio, White Rabbits, The New Amsterdams, Nicole Atkins, 120 Days, The Lisps, Scary Mansion, O'death, & Chris Leo. S&S is made up of past members of Moonraker & FEAST & Mattison. They have spent the cold New York winter recording their debut album together, entitled "Old Joy, New Joy".
They are planning a national tour for September/October 2007.

All My Life

Written By: David Moltz

All my life I heard a symphony
I wanted to make it sound
Someone put these melodies
Into my heavy head

And all my life I wish to be a songstress
Know Thy Spirit, nothing more
Playing for all you looking glass
Looking past, all the dust

The road I took might not work out
But my fire did always burn

All my life has been a training
For that day, may never come
If it doesn’t turn out that way
It’d way to small anyway

‘Cause all my life I wish to be a songstress
Know Thy Spirit nothing more
To play for all you looking glass
I’m looking past all the dust

It is just a small dream
It is not a tragedy

Oh my friend, you didn’t believe
My fine friend, you didn’t believe
In me
