Band Of The Week
Salty De Vito

Salty De Vito is a six-piece alternative rock band fronted by the sultry voice of singer Ali Field.

The Sonoma County band has played the Phoenix Theater in Petaluma, the House of Blues in Hollywood and many other venues. After almost a year off, they are preparing to become a musical force in Sonoma County, as well as a national act.

Their debut album was recorded over the course of the last year at Prairie Sun Studios in Cotati.

Other members of the band are Jonathan Clegg, acoustic guitarist; Dane Steffy, electric guitarist; Lance Harrington, drummer; Chris Farrell, bass; and Marco Salvaggio, electric guitarist and pianist.

Clegg, who is also a songwriter and general manager of the band, says that the group was formed in Los Angeles, but by chance, all members are from Sonoma County. “Individually, we were all trying to pursue entertainment careers in L.A., but now we find ourselves back in our home county, releasing our first album and starting a record company called Pengroove Records, deriving from the town of Penngrove's name.”

Clegg is a native of Petaluma.

Bio

Salty De Vito is a six piece alternative rock band from Sonoma County/ San Francisco on a mission to win over audiences with their high energy performances, and infectious hooks. Singer, Ali Field, draws all lovers of music into her free spirited rock and roll world with her sultry voice, and vocalist/drummer, Lance Harrington, allows the band to switch up their sound just enough to always keep their set list fresh.

Inspired by the likes of Jack Johnson, Marilyn Manson, Oasis, Fiona Apple, and the Beatles, SALTY DE VITO crafts songs that are catchy, yet unique, with harmony filled vocals over heavy hitting grooves.

Dealing with more controversial issues than your average pop artist, but nonetheless pop-savvy, SALTY DE VITO displays a strong song writing sensibility with all of their original songs. They say what you may be afraid to say -- they just make you hum it!

Whether they are performing in front of crowds at local bars in the Bay Area, or packing prestigious venues such as the House of Blues Hollywood in Los Angeles,  Salty De Vito brings their distinctive sound, positive energy and engaging presence to every performance.

In January 2012, the band was invited to perform live on Sonoma County Radio Station, KRSH 95.9FM The Krush, and opened for Royal Bliss (formerly of Capital Records) for their record release in northern California. Recently, Salty De Vito was featured in sfcritic.com (http://www.sfcritic.com/2012/03/27/salty-de-vito-true-mad-north-and-crazy-famous-at-milk-bar-photo-review/ ) and were invited to perform five tracks off of their debut album for Northern California's public TV station KRCB 22.

As the world renowned Prairie Sun Recording Studios describes them:

"This quintet knows
how to have a good time and definitely knows
how to lay down some seriously brilliant
performances.  Whether they’re smoothing it
out or rocking it out, Salty De Vito uses just
enough pop to sweeten just about any musical
palate.  Salty De Vito kicks with a lot of rock
‘n roll and an emotional edge that’s hard to
stop listening to."
