Sam AV

Sam AV is a first generation American and full-blooded Nigerian. Born and raised in Takoma Park, MD a small suburb of Washington, D.C. Sam AV took to rap music at a young age. In the mid-ninties his big cousin played him some Tupac and the rest was history. Throughout grade school he played in various school bands and played instruments ranging from the violin to the flute to the drums. In high school Sam AV bought a small studio setup and began writing and recording his first songs. Sam AV attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison as part of the First Wave Hip-Hop Theatre Ensemble where he was able to hone his musicianship while pursuing a degree. While in school he took up production and graduated in 2012 with a B.A. in African-American Studies with and emphasis in Culture and the Arts. Upon graduating Sam AV relocated to California and has been releasing his self-produced songs online. Sam AV currently resides in San Francisco, California and reps the DMV and the Bay Area.
