Sam Renner

Sam Renner is a composer and music producer who has experience in audio engineering and editing. They started their journey by taking guitar and piano lessons throughout middle school. They began teaching themself production and recording techniques on programs like FL studio and Audacity in high school. These skills eventually led them to earn an associate degree in Audio Recording from Vincennes University in December of 2017.

Sam Renner has performance experience in many instruments, including violin, ukulele, and synthesizers. They have performed with Vincennes University’s blues and string ensembles for two years, playing electric bass and violin. Along with traditional performance and instrumentation, Sam is also skilled in mixing and mastering. They often work closely with local artists as well as classical musicians and enjoys the process of collaborating with artists to help them realize their highest potential.

After attending Vincennes University, Sam transferred to Portland State University as a Junior in the Sonic Arts and Music Production bachelor’s degree program. They are currently a senior at PSU and will be graduating June of 2020. Renner has ambitious career goals and one day hopes to create scores and sound design for blockbuster movies. Sam is working towards these long-term goals by consistently  seeking composition and audio production opportunities wherever they might arise.
