Biography

Sam

The simple, single-word name of this artist shouldn’t throw you off. Behind the unassuming name lies a talent responsible for emotionally complex songwriting, engaging melodies and a charming voice. Besides, the name is also a clue that this musician doesn’t indulge in pretentiousness. Her music is honest and never obfuscates with tricks or gimmicks. It’s the pure power of song channeled through Sam.

Great Circle

Ever met a musician that wasn’t a music fan? It all comes back around again. “Music is the great circle of life,” says Sam. And music is her way of giving back to the world. She shares freely of herself and puts her emotions on the line in song form, offering others genuine passion from which to draw inspiration. “On a personal level, music begins with inspiration, followed by creation and once released, yields inspiration for someone else to begin with creation.”

Universal Language

Sam sees music as a sublime mode of human communication. Contact is more than physical touch or words spoken. Music, she believes, transcends all of that and finds a spirit-to-spirit mode of contact. “On a grand level, music is the universal language that connects us all.” That philosophy explains much of the drive for the open-heartedness on display in all of Sam’s music. For communication to be meaningful, it must be real.

The Artist at Work

Such is Sam’s passion for what she does, there’s never a moment in the day that is very far removed time-wise from the act of writing or recording. New music spills forth constantly. Listeners will soon have a chance to explore this music with the release of “All About the Girl,” Sam’s new CD. Sam is currently working with A&R Select, the world’s leading artist development firm, based out of Los Angeles, CA.

“Sam’s voice, playing and songwriting whisk the listener away to another, even more real place.” – A&R Select

Lyrics

Sycamore

Written By: Sam

Baby, why don't you take a walk with me
we can walk underneath the sycamore trees
how does that sound to you, it sounds nice to me
But i don't even know what a sycamore looks like
but it sounds nice to me
And baby just maybe you'll hold my hand
we can roll up our pants and stroll through the sand
isn't that lovely and don't it sound grand
but i don't even know what a sycamore looks like
but it sounds nice to me
Chorus:
Love isn't always what you think it will be
sometime it's you and sometimes it's me
and if you close your eyes you'll see
that everything is how it's supposed to be
Verse:
Maybe you'll go for a ride in my car
put down the top and drive real far
it maybe sunshine, it may be the stars
cause i don't even know what a sycamore looks like
but it sounds nice to me
And maybe just maybe on our ride
we'll find a place pretty and pull off to the side
then you'll put your hand on my thigh
cause I don't even know what a sycamore looks like
but it sounds nice to me
Chorus:
Bridge:
Come to my bed and hold me tight
and don't forget on your turn out the light
and you may not know love at first sight
but you'll know how it feels when it feels
just right
Verse:
Maybe just maybe when it's time to go
maybe at that moment it will start to snow
then we'll have to drive real slow
cause i don't even know what a sycamore looks like
but it sounds nice to me
Chorus:

the break up song

Written By: sam

Chorus:
You’re a stupid bitch
You’re a dumb ole’ whore
And I don’t want to see you anymore (2x)
Verse:
You broke my heart when you went away
I was begging you to stay
You had to leave cause you loved another
I’m so glad that I discovered
Chorus:
Verse:
You took the keys
You changed the lock
You left me standing there in shock
You took the couch
You took the bed
Found someone else to give you head
Chorus:
Verse:
Now I’m standing all alone
In the empty room
We called our home
Maybe tomorrow will be a better day
But for now all I have to say is
Chorus:

the la la song

Written By: Sam

Verse:
I listened to the message you left on my phone
Over and over like a favorite song
I hold on tight to the things you say
But the words you speak never match the things you do
And I can’t count on you
Chorus:
Cause you go la la la la la la la la la
Tell me how you feel la la la la la la la la
How do I know what’s real la la la la la la la la
Your actions never match your words
Verse:
You tell me you love me you tell me we’re friends
You tell me you’ll call when the day is ending
If I held my breath while I wait for your call
I’d never breathe no, never at all
Chorus:
Bridge:
You give me just enough to keep me holding on
How can I walk away when this time could be the one
La la la la la la
How do you feel la la la la la la la
How do I know what’s real la la la la la la
Your actions never match your words
Verse:
You promise me time just a little once in a while
You’ll tell me you want it as much as I do
But the words you speak never match the things you do
And I can’t count on you
Chorus

Someday

Written By: Samantha Korshin

Someday I'm gonna be a rock star
and drive around in a fancy car
and it could happen someday
Someday I'm gonna be an actress
and on tv in a fancy dress
and it could happen someday
Chorus:
I don't want to believe that someday never comes
I'm still counting on tomorrow yeah
I don't want to believe that someday never comes
when I'm still counting on tomorrow
Verse:
Someday I'm gonna be a painter
and I will have my own framer
and it could happen someday
Someday I'm gonna write a novel
and it will be really novel
and it could happen someday
Chorus:
Verse:
Someday I'm gonna be an astronaut
well, ok so maybe not
but I'll always have someday
yeah I'll always have someday
Chorus

Criminal

Written By: Sam

put me away
behind bars I should be
lock me up & throw away the key
I'm a criminal, a common thief
I'll do it all again for this sweet release

Just let me spend one more moment with you
I'll pay the price for the crimes that we do
Just let me steal another kiss from your lips
Hard up against me with a push of your hips

Tie me up, hold me down
in this magic let me drown
cause I'm a criminal. a common thief and I'll do it all again for this sweet release

Just let me steal this one single touch
and the look in your eyes i love so much
just let me steal this one single breath
I have no more, cause you stole the rest

Put me away....
