Samantha Aiken and the Rodeo Drive Band entertained music lovers at the Patsy Jones Amphitheater in Roberts Point Park Friday August 10. The show was part of the Sunset Sounds series of concerts sponsored by the Port Aransas Parks and Recreation Department. Samantha Aiken is silhouetted against the setting sun as she plays guitar and belts out a song.

The woman’s Club of Aransas Pass held their eighth annual Style show April 14 at the Aransas Pass Civic Center. This year’s theme was “New York, New York.” The show sold out this year with 425 tickets. Jennifer Lira, Channel 6 News anchor was the emcee. Opening Entertainment featured Samantha Aiken who wowed the crowd with Broadway tunes.

Rockport-Fulton High School sophomore Samantha Aiken…sang in the rotunda of the state Capitol May 17 at the invitation of State Rep. Todd Hunter. Samantha has been performing…most recently with her band, the Rodeo Drive Band in San Antonio, Austin and locally. She writes and records original songs. She will sing at Shrimporee this weekend.

Small town girl Samantha Aiken has been performing on stage since she was 12 years old. When Samantha was 16 she had an original song called Game Over played on the Showtime cable television show "Strikeforce for MMA fighter Jan Finney. Samantha is influenced by Elvis Presley, Demi Lovato, Christina Aguilera and Johnny Cash which she shows in her country rock sound. Her band features 3 part harmonies making every song their own and setting them apart from the other bands. Samantha writes duets for her and her guitar player, Kenny Jewett with additional background harmonies from her bass player, Tony Nicklin making their sound truly unique.
