"A compilation of Reviews"

“Singer-songwriter debuts with an evocative and beautifully unique voice. The music matches perfectly, reminding us of the graceful way in which Tom Waits dishevels his own albums.” El Periodico

“Folk, coloured by strong influences of jazz, accompanied with delicate arrangements, together paint the beautiful picture that characterises this composer. Her voice at times reminds us of Beth Gibbons and at other times echoes Cat Power. Here Inside is an elegant exercise in style, and a wonderful demonstration of the spell that was cast over this city, as it gave birth to new talent within each music genre.” Mondo Sonoro

"A compilation of songs... enriched with exuberant arrangements which carry us into a universe as luscious as a greenhouse garden... Her music, which isn't easy to classify, reminds us of Joanna Newsom's dreamy folk." Time Out

“Her work is truly emotive, moving from folk to jazz in a single breath and capable of becoming punk with one emotional outburst. Both elegant and lucid, Samantha, creates very beautiful songs that, in one way or another, always manage to thrill her audience.” Lamono

“It's easy to imagine Samantha de Siena lost amongst the cobbled streets of Barcelona's Gothic Quarter, laughing at the moon and piecing together the eight little gems that make up this bohemian dreamer's sublime debut album, Here Inside. It's very difficult not to fall to your knees at her feet while listening to a piece as delicate as I'm Coming.” Butxaca

“A promising start from this Londoner, who has much to contribute to the international music scene.” RockZone - El Periodico, MondoSonoro, Time Out, Lamono, Butxaca, RockZone

Bio

A few summers ago, Samantha de Siena set sail for Barcelona to follow her dreams of singing and writing music. There, in the magic of Barcelona's old town, this singer- songwriter from London wrote her debut album, Here Inside, which has received glowing reviews. MondoSonoro praised her debut as “an elegant exercise in style” and Radio 3 as “literally extraordinary, an absolute pleasure for very open ears and anxious souls.”

Not easy to classify, her music and her “beautifully unique voice” (El Periódico) have been described as “a mixture between Beth Gibbons and Cat Power” (Butxaca) and likened to “Joanna Newsom's dreamlike folk.” (Time Out) “Truly emotive, moving from folk to jazz in a single breath and capable of becoming punk with one emotional outburst. Samantha de Siena creates very beautiful songs that always manage to thrill her audience.” (Lamono)

Flourishing as both singer and songwriter, Samantha de Siena is now preparing to release a second album. Recorded with her impressive band, produced by the respected musical genius Suso Sáiz and financed with the support of her fans, Lifing The Veil is a true labor of love and a testiment to her talent as an upcoming artist with “much to contribute to the international music scene.” (RockZone)

Both a universal story and an intimate portrait of Samantha's own journey, Lifting The Veil is a return to the concept album. The title is a direct translation of the Greek word we know as 'apocalypse', which often used to describe the end of the world, actually refers to the disclosure of hidden truths, the end of illusion and a time of revelation and celebration.
