Bio

Samantha is originally from Bruce, Alberta, Samantha has put her roots down in Edmonton, Alberta. She has a passion for singing and listening to all genres of music, a passion she has indulged since childhood. Her first public appearance was on the steps of the Alberta Legislative Building at the age of two. When she was nine she wrote her first jingle for her brother, Jesse. As a young teen, Samantha’s second home became the stage, where she sang all the classic country hits while envisioning herself on the Grand Ole’ Opry.

Like Martina McBride and Patsy Cline, she performed in front of her family, at school, at the local restaurant. Her first official stage performance was at the Canadian Finals Rodeo“Country Vocal Spotlight” National competition, where she won the coveted title. She was thirteen.

The rush she felt from the music and the reactions of the audience told her that entertaining others was what she wanted to do for the rest of her life. Her commitment to doing everything it takes to promote her music and to write songs is coupled with her extraordinary talent and drive. She writes whenever the mood touches her, no matter where she is, or what she’s doing. She usually writes the melody first, then adds the lyrics. Her lyrical writing stems from her love of poetry.

She draws her inspiration from a rich variety of sources: Stevie Ray Vaughan, Aretha Franklin, Keith Urban, Ray Charles, Collin James and Patsy Cline are favourites. When she isn’t listening to, singing or writing music, she’s winning awards across the country, or performing with Adam Gregory, Lisa Brokop, George Fox, Gil Grand, Rick Tippe or Kenny Hess. Not only has she been opening for Country stars she’s been performing on the same main stages as Alan Jackson, Sawyer Brown, the Oakridge Boys, Joe Nichols, Duane Steele and Patricia Conroy. Samantha also had the privilege to perform in front of 80,000 people at the Opening Ceremonies for Edmonton’s 100th Birthday Celebration.

Samantha’s current accomplishments include:

* RCA Nashville Development Deal
* Nominee for the 2004/2003 CCMA (Canadian Country Music Association)
Chevy Truck Rising Star
* 2003 WCMA (Western Canadian Music Association) nominee
* topped the Canadian Cancountry Top 100 Country Hits of 2003 with her song ‘Fall’
* one of the 2004/05 Top 10 Female Country Recording Artists in Canada.
* Songwriting in Nashville with well known songwriters such as Lisa Brokop (Artist), Tim Taylor (Jason McCoy), LuAnn Reid (Kenny Chesney), Eddie Schwartz (Hit Me With Your Best Shot), Ted Hewitt (Curb Music Producer), Joie Scott (Shania Twain) and many more.

Samantha released her debut album “This is Forever,” and is currently working with Raul Malo of The Mavericks who will be producing her RCA CD.

Samantha’s voice: the rich, deep-down soul and emotion equivalent to Patsy Cline with soul. Her power and confidence are blended with personality that makes her an Entertainer to watch for.
