Bio

Samantha Shelton is currently featured on the GRAMMY nominated soundtrack for the Quentin Tarantino film "Inglourious Basterds" singing the 1943 classic "The Man With The Big Sombrero". Singer, songwriter, actress, and all around grand dame born and raised in the North East corner of Los Angeles, her homegrown melodies are sweet and salty, the songs of a city girl with a country heart, looking for a way out of town. Shelton’s musical inspiration ranges from Big Band Jazz, to Country, Folk, and Pop, and her dulcet voice and distinctive lyrics offer whimsical observations on the nuances of love, the opportunities of heart break, and the strange and obtuse realities of living. She began her musical journey heading up the hugely popular cabaret act "Pretty Babies" along side fellow actress Zooey Deschanel, performing in night clubs across Los Angeles. In 2009 Shelton released 2 solo albums and performed extensively, including at the FOX network EMMY's party, and a sold out show at SXSW. Her song "Across the Sea" will appear in the upcoming ABC show "Happy Town" in 2010, and her cover of "I Used To Say I Love You" is currently in the award winning independent film "Women In Trouble".
