"Alisha Dixon and Same Mistake Twice Lead The Way In 2008"

PRLog (Press Release) – Jun 12, 2008 – The one and only Alisha Dixon, previously a contestant of American Idol, is leading the way for her band called Same Mistake Twice. Taking all of the necessary steps to prove Simon wrong, Alisha plans to continue building her fan base in the northeast with her unique sound.

Alisha, who is a talented musician studying at Berklee College of Music, has been singing for about ten years and writing music passionately for four of those. As Alisha leads the way for Same Mistake Twice, their live shows blend updated versions of 70’s music through today’s rock and pop/punk music along with their new original hits.

“Writing, for me, is probably the best thing to happen to me.” Alisha says, and then she adds “It’s such an outlet for the tumultuous time early on in life. I used to only sing other people’s music, but no matter how relevant the songs were to my life they were never as personal as the originals I’ve compiled thus far.”

Alisha Dixon is on the path to success in 2008. Not only is she collaborating with her band Same Mistake Twice on their debut album, but she decided to take things one step further towards her success by signing with a national artist development company. Alonce Music Agency is currently working hand in hand with CA2NY Music Media to develop a complete image around Alisha Dixon and Same Mistake Twice. The band is already set with numerous show dates with more in the process and a productive public relations campaign for national awareness.

“It’s amazing how fast venues and promoters are picking up Alisha Dixon and Same Mistake Twice…” says Cali Sky, a major career developer for Alonce Music Agency. “…with their fan base growing as quickly as it is, we anticipate developing a national tour for them during the summer of 2009.”

Same Mistake Twice, even though no official album is released, has three great songs currently available for sale on their MySpace page (www.myspace.com/samemistake2x). Fans love “Saturday Night” and “Desirable Calamity” so much that they flock to their shows to hear them play live. Same Mistake Twice has more to offer than just six minutes of play time, their live shows consist of a minimum of 45 minutes of original music. During their live shows, Same Mistake Twice will even play some cover songs said by many to be better than their original makers. - Matthew Cardollo / CA2NY Music Media

Same Mistake Twice Making Big Plans!
During the month of April, Alisha met with representatives of Alonce Music Agency, a national booking agency out of Delaware, in her quest to find a promotional company that would share her vision. By the end of April, Same Mistake Twice and Alonce Music Agency joined forces to promote the band to extraordinary levels. Currently Same Mistake Twice is being picked up by venues from Boston, New Jersey, and all the way to Detroit as a headlining act.

Bio

Alisha Dixon, vocalist, is from Manahawkin, NJ has been singing for about 10 years and writing music for about 4. "Writing, for me, is probably the best thing to happen to me. It's such an outlet for the tumultuous time early on in life. I used to only sing other people's music, but no matter how relevant the songs were to my life they were never as personal as the originals I've compiled thus far." She sang locally for most of her life in small things, never really able to get the credibility from bands as a front woman. Then she earned a spot in the Hollywood rounds in Season 7 of American Idol, and
became increasingly popular by her peers. But it was all a little too late, she had already moved on...
anticipating her new endeavor of moving to the city of Boston to attend Berklee College of Music.

Jay Marcovitz, guitar, hails from Ann Arbor, MI. He's been playing music for over 15 years, with the last 4 years performing professionally, specializing mainly in guitar and bass. He was prompted to take music lessons at the age of three after being constantly observed watching and imitating performers like Eric Clapton and John Mellencamp on television. At age ten he took up trumpet and played for three years in concert and jazz bands until he finally sank into guitar. At the age of fourteen he started forming bands and performing at shows and youth centers around the area. He eventually settled in a ten piece Rock/Ska outfit called Mad Hot Dance Hall and began playing shows in Detroit as well, while sessioning on drums and bass for many groups around town as well as performing an additional three nights a week in a jazz quintet. After gigging all throughout high school he came to Berklee College of Music to further his musical endeavors. He's now playing in Same Mistake Twice in hopes of taking it even further.

Ryan McLoughlin, Bass, is from New Haven, CT and has been playing bass since 2001. Being influenced heavily by punk rock bands such as The Clash, Ryan decided to start his own band as soon as he picked up his bass. In 2001, Ryan started his first band, Angleworm, which was a mix of punk and reggae. Between 2002 and 2008, Ryan recorded three LPs and three EPs and had the pleasure of working with Triumph of Life Records for several of those releases. In 2007 Ryan began studying bass at Berklee College of Music. In 2008, Ryan auditioned for Same Mistake Twice and played his first show with them in January 2009.

This band was created by Alisha from a bunch of
advertisements for a new band and what she wound up with is her favorite group of people at school, who later became...Same Mistake Twice.
