Bio

Although young in years Sam has a sound that reaches far beyond his age. Dave Navarro and Johnny A. think so. Dave Navarro has been quoted to say that Sam is "among the next level of inspirational guitarists." Johnny A. has said that he hears a similarity to Carlos Santana and Joe Satriani.

Sam also likes using his gift of song writing and playing guitar for good causes. In the summer of 2008 he was asked to play a benefit for a dear friend fighting cancer. The event was held at the famed "Double Door" in Charlotte, N.C. Sam had the honor not only of raising money for a good cause but stood on the very stage that has had many famous musicians including Eric Johnson, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton and Derek Trucks, just to mention a few. Oddly enough Derek Trucks was the same age as Sam, 12 when he first played the "Double Door."

Another "Double Door" opportunity came Sam's way when the legendary blues guitarist Bob Margolin (Muddy Waters) asked Sam to open for him this December 20th, 2008.

Sam kept his busy summer schedule moving when he was accepted into the North Carolina School of the Arts. When Joseph Pecoraro heard Sam's music, writing ability, playing and arrangement of his work, he made a personal call to invite him to attend. The school only featured classical guitar, and although Sam had never played classical guitar, according to staff, he was accepted based on his raw talent. Sam was featured with an ensemble given in the final concert in front of a live audience.

Sam's dreams are of Berklee College of Music. His goal is to attend as many workshops there and establish as many relationships with staff, students and supporters of Berklee so that one day, even though the competition is extensive, he will have a foot in the door.
