Bio
As singer/ song writer and music director, Sam Menesses is no stranger to the importance of the music industry as means to outreach lives. Sam’s current brand of guitar-driven acoustic songs represent the cultivation of a diversity of inspirations from rock, pop, alternative and folk genres intertwined with inspirational lyrics drawn from his own journey of faith. Furthermore, his versatile and energetic guitar style complements his emotionally-charged vocals that bestow a spark of sincerity and sensitivity so often absent in today's music world.
Sam began playing at age 8 and continues to home in on the soulful, heartfelt style that was shaped not only by his steady interest in world music but also by his passion for worship that was developed as contributor and later as director of music programs of churches like Vineyard Church Costa Rica and most recently, Community Christian Church in Chicago. His biggest influences today are artists like Chris Tomlin, Amos Lee, Maná, and Dave Matthews band.
Sam recently finished a new demo CD whose songs came to life with the addition of players like Bryn Martin, Mark Nelson, Justin Forsythe, Paul Roots and Tony Escobar. This remarkable production is capable of getting listeners’ attention and reaching unimaginable heights.
