"Berkshires Week"

Berkshire singer-songwriter Sammy Brown Has a long, eclectic resume in the music buisness, including stints with the likes of Kenny Rankin,Sally Struthers,Livingston Taylor and Pure Prairie League, among others. He's called California and Austin home at different times, and he has fronted a country band and sang for radio and t.v.commercials.
All this varied experience is somehow channeled into the songs on "Kissing Booth",Brown's latest CD,recorded recorded at various locations in the Berkshires and mastered at Off the Beat-n-Track Studios in Southfield.
Brown is something of a one-man band, handling multiple instrumental chores on guitar, bass, keyboards, harmonica,
banjo and drums. - Berkshire Eagle

"Sammy Brown "Kissing Booth" cd"

Quick, name three famous folk rock legends!Come on! Ah,you can't can you?Well,If you had any brain cells left you might have said James Taylor,or maybe Cat Stevens. Amyway,is Sammy Brown cut from this mold...But it's tough to really nail Sammy down as his style flirts with country, and sometimes flirts wiyh the bizarre.....
Regardless,if you're a fan of old school me-and-my-guitar easy rock,I can recommend "Kissing Booth" to you as a nice way to spend an hour on a colder day of gray.

I started playing music professionally in the early seventies.Colleges, clubs and concerts just like everyone else except I was offered radio and t.v. commercial work at a young age.The experience was great. Then came a stretch of opening for college acts such as Pure Prarie League,Carl Perkins,Johnathan Edwards,Livingston Taylor,Dave Mason.
After a ten month booking in Denver and Boulder,Co. I placed quarter finalist in The American Song Festival so I kept going and moved to L.A. where I performed mostly in Redondo and Hermosa Beach,Palm Springs,Big Bear and the Sanfernando Valley but my best experiences came from working in Hollywood with actors such as Sally Struthers and Robert Blake. This is also when I released my first recordings "Way Down" and "Backyard."
I'd probably still be there now but an offer for a six month booking in Austin,Tx. came my way.
I ended up moving back to New England and got back into the clubs and concerts and releasing my first cd "Strong Box", doing a lot of radio, but my biggest thrill was being the first Mass.musician to be asked to perform in N.Y.City during the post 9/11 tragedy for the firefighters,National Guard and Police at "Nino's."Nino's was a resturant open 24 hr.a day only to those involved with the clean-up. I performed there five times and it's something I'll never forget.
Another similar experience was traveling to New Orleans with an organisation called "Heart Strings" to help with the Katrina tragedy.Music is a powerfull healer.
I continue to play any venue ,anywhere anytime, and have released another cd "Kissing Booth" to very favorable reviews.
I hope I am of some interest to you and if you like what you hear and see we get a chance to meet. Thanks,Sammy Brown
