Sammy Dee Morton Band

Sammy Dee is an " Honorary Louisiana Bluesman", deemed by the Louisiana Music Commission, 2005. The band plays authentic Louisiana/Texas style blues. Sammy Dee has toured with the legendary, Doug Kershaw (Ragin Cajun) for ten years as his guitarist. The Doug Kershaw act played events such as the New Orleans Jazz Fest opening for BB King to Las Vegas Fremont Street Experience Mardi Gras to opening for Steppinwolf, Austin TX. And Sammy Dee has toured with his own band throughout the U.S. He is based in Colorado. His band has opened for many artists in the Boulder/Denver area such as Robert Cray (Boulder Theater-see video on website), Delbert McClinton and Tab Benoit, (who he has played with over the years). He has played with many blues and Cajun greats throughout the U.S. Sammy Dee is a songwriter and has many recordings on the internet and one in particular is Strat Struttin' which was released on Guitar Master Vol 3 & 4: Les Paul Dedication/BHP Music.
