Bio

Samoans are a band from Cardiff, although none of the members originate from the city itself. Since forming in 2008 the band have played extensively in the South Wales area, gradually building up a dedicated following with their distinctive style of progressive rock music, drawing influence from bands such as Reuben, Maps and Atlases and Secondsmile. Instead of self-releasing their own music, the band have concentrated on establishing themselves as a live band and have secured support slots with the likes of Oceansize, Funeral For A Friend, And So I Watch You From Afar, The Xcerts, Dinosaur Pile Up, The Airborne Toxic Event and most recently Los Campesinos! and The Blackout at The Cardiff Big Weekend 2010.
The inclusion of Samoans on the Barely Regal ‘Zero Years’ compilation in 2010 has lead to the fledgling Cardiff Label putting out the band’s forthcoming debut single ‘Somersault’ on a split 7” record with fellow Cardiffians, Strange News From Another Star, in March 20112.
