Samsaya could be seen as a cross between Erykah Badu and Missy Elliot. The album starts with the best row of hit songs on any album I have heard for a long time.. Irresistable! Review: 5/6 - VG (main newspaper in Norway)
I bow my head in the dust of the festival. Samsaya is the complete artist! Her band of jazzy and Hendrix inspired musicians groove as noone else in this country.Samsaya will reach far!

National Norwegian broadcasting NRK picked up her demo of “Pure to me” in Supermono studio in Oslo Summer of 2003 and playlisted it extensively.
Samsaya a.k.a Sampda Sharma is also a famous movie actress in Norway from the films “Folk flest bor i Kina”, “Villmark” and the new movie “Hawaii, Oslo”.
Samsaya’s second single “Ever been had” became a hit in Norway a few weeks after release. The video also received critical acclaim and has been one of the highest rotated videos on Svisj and ZTV (national video channels). Samsaya’s debut album “Shedding Skin” was released in Norway in June 2004.
This girl is able to drop tight rimes and blow you away with her strong soulful vocal. Live she literally comes out of her skin… She has performed several festivals this Summer; Quart Festival in Kristiansand and Øya in Oslo among others.
Re-wiiind!
Way back when Sam met Saya…
Sam, some of us knew as the fierce female MC of Oslo.
She was born in India, but brought up in the suburbs of Oslo, Norway. Her opinions have always been well expressed in her lyrics. Female integrity, cultural indifferences and her fight to do her thing are some of the issues she conveys through her music.
