SAMSON PARK

Hey friends, I'm Samson Park. I make music by combining my vocals and my acousitc guitar named Greta. Music has been my passion for so many years; I've been playing guitar for about 4 years and singing for even longer.

Biography

Samson Park began making music at a young age. When he was 8 years old, his mother bought his father a guitar for their anniversary. Since his father rarely played the guitar, Samson took it upon himself to learn how to play the instrument for himself. Several years later, he set the acoustic aside and decided to try out the bass instead. This led to Samson's first garage band which never even made it to the local fire hall for a show. Several bands later, Samson went back to his roots and picked up the acoustic one more time to learn a song by one of his favorite bands. After learning the song, Samson was unable to put the guitar down, and realized this was his passion. He was always told that he could never sing because his mother just assumed since she could not do it, Samson couldn't either. But after trying it out and singing in the shower, the car, or anywhere people couldn't hear, Samson gained the courage to start singing at friends' bonfires during the summers. People started to take an interest in his voice, so he began writing his own music. After graduating high school, Samson wrote more songs and asked a friend to help record his first EP, Celestial Somethings. After the release of Celestial Somethings, Samson began playing shows to crowds interested in hearing what this solo acoustic musician had to offer. Within a month all of the CD's he made were sold and Samson had to make more copies for demanding friends. Now Samson, at just 20 years old, is sharing stages with bands known across the country, and will be getting out of his home town, Pittsburgh, by going on his first tour in the summer of 2009.
