"Red Shirt Costume Party Show Review"

Privileged to be in attendance last night at Vardagen in fishers last night as Samuel Lawton put on one of the best shows I have witnessed from a locally based artist in quite a while.

Samuel and his band make kick a$$ rock-n-roll that manages to be intelligent and creative while simultaneously separating your head from your shoulders. Think Muse meets Green Day and you'll get the general idea.

Samuel has a big beautiful heart, and he uses his art to further the goals of funding an orphanage in Ukraine and fighting human trafficking (a cause very dear to my own heart). He is definitely worth checking out and giving your support to.

"RECHARGED Album Review"

Very well done, very creative, very diverse in style/tone/attitude..very well produced.

-His voice is amazing and he sings with many different styles...
-The music styles include everything from 80's hairband rock to coffee house music, to "Jesus
Christ Superstar" - style/attitude.
-His messages are very interesting...all with hope and being positive....
-Lots of emotion in his voice..I particularly noticed that emotion/passion...
-Production values seem very important to him, and he manages them well.

I read the linear notes..well done.
I love the artwork and his logo/signature..very creative, original.

Thanks for the cd...

Still working on that hot first release.

RECHARGED. The name of Samuel Lawton's first solo album has fans feeling just that. The album debuted in April with a high-energy release show in Indianapolis. RECHARGED is packed with his 2013 releases, remixed and remastered. The album also features a brand new title track. "This song is about pushing through all the trials one faces as an artist, and finding the ability to recharge knowing that one day it will all pay off", says Samuel.

Samuel continues to move forward full speed ahead with the goal of bringing authentic rock back to Indianapolis. In a city with a struggling rock music scene, it has not been easy. However, Samuel is up for the challenge. His music blends the groove of Maroon 5, the passion of the Killers, and the EPIC sound of Muse with their wild tones and operatic vocals.

Samuel writes, records, and mixes all of his own songs. He was classically trained on violin at a young age and quickly progressed onto guitar, drums, and song-writing. He gained further experience performing and touring the U.S. with various artists, even those outside his genre.  But desiring to have more freedom as an artist, Samuel began to create his solo project in 2013. The dream came alive with the release of songs like The Red Shirt Kid and Johnny Boy, both of which have heavy undertones with upbeat melodies. He also released his first music video for the single Not For Sale, which seeks to raise awareness and invoke action against human trafficking around the globe.

Coming off his first tour in Europe over the summer (of 2013), Samuel is recharged and more ready than ever to make his mark in the U.S.A. and leave a major dent in the D.I.Y. industry. Although the industry is difficult to break through, Samuel is confident that his live show can compete with the best. Expect nothing short of an EPIC, high-energy, guitar-heavy performance that will leave you with a fresh perspective on what "authentic-EPIC-rock" is all about.
