Bio

Samuel Lawton is an up-and-coming rock artist with musical influences like Muse and The Killers. Samuel is just beginning as a solo artist, but this is not his first experience performing - he has over 16 years of experience performing everything from rock to classical music. For Samuel, music is something special that he has pursued in many ways for most of his life. When Samuel takes part in making music, something mysterious takes place - energy is no longer bound, but is released with inner healing, compassion and floods of emotion as melody emerges.

This energy has inspired Samuel to pursue music throughout his life and now as his career. At age 5, Samuel began playing violin. In the 7th grade he continued his passion for music by learning guitar and two years later he cut his first album. His senior year of high school he learned drums and has played for various artists ever since. In college, he continued playing drums and won the Vic Firth Hard and Heavy 2 contest by Matt Greiner. Additionally in college he wrote music and played drums for the band A Contradiction, tracked drums and violin for various recording projects and played an active role in engineering and producing for Orangehaus Records while pursuing a bachelor's degree in music business. Last year, he spent a semester at the Contemporary Music Center in Martha's Vineyard to study performing, writing, engineering and producing from industry professionals. These experiences all prepared him for what he is about to do next - release his first album as a solo artist.

Samuel's solo album, scheduled to be released this spring, is entitled "Awareness." Samuel has been very involved in the entire music process of this album as he has written every song and tracked nearly every instrument. The title of his album states where Samuel is now and what he has experienced in the past. As he journeys into his next stage of life, he is gaining awareness on many fronts - from global issues of poverty and sex trafficking, to becoming a young man learning about relationships and life. The world will be introduced to Samuel Lawton by his great music and compassion in "Awareness."
