Bio
Angel Yuri González Quintero, aka Samuray Kuba, was born on July 5th, 1985 in Havana, Cuba. With only 7 years he already went to music school and during his school years he had many famous teachers that were successfull with their own musical career in Cuba. So the only type of music he knew so far was the traditional Cuban rythm.
In 2002 he heard for the first time a piece of the Rapper "2Pac" and soon after started with his first little Hip Hop band.
In August 2003 the famous Cuban group Orishas gave a concert in their home country and Angel has been invited to be a special guest. The evening was a big success and Angel decided spontaneously to continue as a solo rapper named "Samuray".
After he won various competitions, he started to work with producer Joel Machado Perez (Jou MP). Jou MP is very experienced as a producer, arranger, musician and composer of several Cuban orchestras and knows Hip Hop very well.
2007 they decided to record a CD that mixes Hip Hop with traditional Cuban music like Cha Cha Cha, Mambo, Son, Son Montuno and Guajira.
After two years of work they finished the CD "A Mi Cuba". In Cuba the CD wasn't available to buy. But when Samuray emigrated to Switzerland in spring 2009 he decided to promote his new music and he changed his name to "Samuray Kuba" to clarify his origin. To make it interesting, he wrote the name of the island with "K" for Kuba, as the country is known in his new home Switzerland.
In spring 2011 his fans will finally be able to buy and download his CD "A Mi Cuba".
Meanwhile, Angel Yuri González Quintero composes as "Samuray Kuba" constantly new music. For him the most important thing is to defend everywhere in the world... LA MÚSICA CUBANA ....
