Sam Wylde

 Perth, Western Australia, AUS
BandFolkSinger/Songwriter

I am told that my sound sits in-between people and bands like Damien Rice and Mumford and Sons, only I use the piano a lot more. I write honest, often joyful and sometimes sad music that connects with and captivates audiences. It is all about the songs.

Biography

My name is Sam Wylde. I can't stand the idea of pursuing a career surrounded by four walls and a roof, blocking out all the musical creativity that I am pursuing and sharing with the world. My musical journey has been inspired and heavily influenced by acts like The Swell Season, Mumford and Sons, Damien Rice, Bruce Springsteen . . . As a performer I give raw, honest shows - giving all the musical heart I have to my audience. I am currently recording my debut solo EP set to be released in November 2012, so keep me in mind!

Lyrics

Disappear

Written By: Sam Wylde

Heavy eyelids, finally close
You rest on my shoulder, leave my heart exposed
To your elegant loveliness, and my not so delicate happiness
All the rules that we break, and the songs we create
And the color that you bring, to this gray world we are in

Don't go . . . Just close your eyes with me
Let it all disappear
Because you paint this town, with loveliness
And you inspire cheesy love songs - you bring happiness

And the rules that we break, and the songs we create
And the color that you bring, to this gray world I'm in

And love is a story of two beating hearts, that pump all the blood through deep aching scars
Tenderly and sublimely we are free
Oh just close your eyes . . . Let it all disappear
Because you paint this town, with loveliness
You inspire cheesy love songs - you bring happiness.

Time

Written By: Sam Wylde

Is a hundred years, enough time
For a boy to find, some peace of mind.
Happiness certainly leaves behind, empty spaces no one else will find
And when they try to fill the gaps, it just falls strait through the cracks.

So don't you know, that you can't stay
Love you know, you can't run away
From the God that you see, yeah the God that you see
So don't you, worry, about me.

A stampede of sorrow set in motion, pushed you over into the ocean
But you can't swim, when you think of him.

I'm not blind, I can use my mind, life is not kind, to those who find . . .

So don't you know, that you can't stay
Love you know, you can't run away
From the God that you see, yeah the God that you see
But I will never, ever, forget.

If he knew my face

Written By: Sam Wylde

Happiness comes, happiness goes, you fall to your knees - do you believe in me, do you believe in me x2

How do you know that I will survive
I stumble and the finish line is out of sight
All I feel is deep contrite, but I will not yeild in the dark of night

Happiness comes, happiness goes, you fall to your knees - do you believe, do you believe in me

I asked a man, if he knew my face
He said he did not recognize, but there was something I should realize
We only recognize light, because of darkness
We only love, hate and die, because the heart is soft
Why.

How do you know that I will survive,
I stumble and the finish line is out of sight
All I feel is hopelessness and all I gain is loneliness

Happiness comes, happiness goes, you fall to your knees - do you believe in me, do you believe in me.
