The vocal group Sanades and the Human Beatbox team Word of Mouth look for the primal locomotive power of the human voice through the complicated paths of music. The voice being the most direct, interactive means to create music draws the audience into an unexpected and original music play where everything is possible. Four talented female vocalists collaborating with a powerful beatbox duo challenge us into interacting within an extraordinary and surely unpredictable synergy. Their three-year long collaboration began as part of the Greek Festival in 2009 and has evolved into the must see show of Athens’ music scene ever since. The group’s recent successful sold-out performance at Athens Megaron Concert Hall on March 2012 received enthusiastic feedback from audience and critics. Their performances combine a strong repertoire of world music, folk and rock songs ranging from Kurt Weil and Leonard Cohen to rembetiko music and polyphonic traditional songs from around Greece and the Balkans all wraped up around vocal improvisations and always accompanied by humorous originality and playful simplicity : the band’s creative core. The essence of their performances is always about the entertaining and creative experience of expressing and voicing emotions through the art of singing.
Both Sanades and Word of Mouth have been successfully active in their areas of expertise before joining forces on stage.

The female vocal group Sanades (= the female wild goats in the Cretan dialect) was founded on October 2007 in Athens by professional singers of diverse music backgrounds and music careers who met at Ross Daly’s summer music seminars in Crete. Following the polyphonic tradition, they explore the abilities of the human voice, improvise and include in their repertoire songs from different parts of the world as well as their own compositions. Since 2007 they have performed in festivals, theatres e.t.c around Greece. In 2009 Sanades teamed up with the beatbox duo of Word of Mouth and have been performing together ever since.

Word of Mouth have been the leading beatbox group in Greece for about five years gaining international acclaim after their participation as finalists at Beatbox Battle 2009 in Berlin. Both Bitman and El Pap Chico have represented human beatbox & hip hop culture in Greece for more than 15 years as solo artists. They have played numerous shows around Greece and have collaborated on stage with some of the most acclaimed Greek artists. They have also performed as support act in Greece for SNOOP DOGGY DOG (US), Lords of the Underground (US), Beat Assaillant (FR), Phy-Life Cypher (UK) … In 2009 they created the first a capella-beatbox collaboration in Greece with the female vocal group “Sanades”. WOM are also the founders of the first Beatbox Academy in Athens.
