Breaking through the threshold of small town limitations, Sanctioned has made a name for itself throughout the southeast. Dealing with several line up changes, this all original band has finally come together to form a unique sound, a blend of old school influence, with the likes of today’s heavier sound. Inspired by old and new school influences,founding member, Alvin Caudill conveys an insightful & slightly angry perspective to everyday issues. The crowd loves to listen to his grungy/gritty vocals & his screaming leads that explodes with pure volume. Bridging the gap between the guitars and drums is the fellow founding member and bass player Mitch Rister. Mitch has a new school approach to his bass playing coming from the likes of Deftones, Mudvayne and Korn. This enables Mitch to be the cement that binds Sanctioned’s ultra tight rhythm section to it’s massive wall of guitars. For the past 8-months (ex Element 55) drummer Sarah Bastek has been proving that she is one girl that has what it takes to hang with the big boys, and then some! Pulling from her vast musical influences that reach across the entire music spectrum teamed with a fluid, and seemingly effortless drumming style she has provided Sanctioned with a rock hard foundation to build its musical ideas upon. (Any of this would be quite an accomplishment for any drummer, but to have done all this at age 16 is just sick!) And finally our newest member, making his Tallahassee debut, (ex Euphoria’s Dragon) guitar player Mark Wheeler brings his crash and burn guitar style to today’s new-school heavy metal helping blur the lines between Van halen and Godsmack. Their talent has been recognized by many, giving them the opportunity to share stages with some widely known acts such as Flaw, Uncrowned, Rikets. Sanctioned’s most recent accomplishments is winning 2nd place at the Project Independent B.O.B in Jacksonville, Fl.
