Bio
Sandbox is a North Carolina band specializing in
upbeat, twangy traditional children's music (like “Old MacDonald” and “Bingo”) and catchy, original songs from our second record,
Are We There Yet? (Summer 2008).
We are known for fun, interactive performances
and vocal prowess. Our primary audience is the
younger crowd, but our music appeals to folks of all
ages. Our approach is to play familiar classics that
everyone knows and loves, mixed with fun original
material. From there we encourage kids (and adults!)
to dance, move, shake and sing.
Sandbox has decades of band experience under our collective belts. Frank and Ed (guitars) both led local bands for years. Jeff (bass) was a founding member of a pop group in Oregon, and Chris (drums) was a top member of the Florida State marching band. Pat (mandolin and dobro) has played in country and zydeco bands locally and in his home state of Louisiana.
Audiences are consistently surprised at how entertaining Sandbox
performances can be for every age-group. With four vocal leads, we bring loads of humor and harmony to timeless children’s classics as well as our own songs. We are pros at getting kids
involved with our act, and we keep the pace and presentation entertaining for adults as well.
