"Silvia Urgas - Tallinn Music Week"

It is impossible to confuse something else with Sandra Sillamaa Trad.Attack!, that appeared on Theatre NO99 stage last saturday! Using genuine records of old bards and instrumentalists, Trad.Attack! is pure dance music, something like a nordic version of turbofolk. It only seemed to lack a proper dance beat and a few synth motives to be a dance hit, but even now, multi-instrumentalist Sandra Sillamaa and all girls’ favorite Jalmar Vabarna have come up with rather decent phenomenon. - Estonian Public Proadcasting

"Triin Niinemets - Tallinn Music Week"

For many folk music gurus, the key event of yesterday evening was the very first appearance of Sandra Sillamaa Trad.Attack!. It was a historical moment indeed since they plan to perform in every country in in the world. The thirteen stunning disco balls hanging down from the ceiling is not quite common for a folk music event. Also, when entering the hall, a fragment from the upcoming song “Kooreke” (“Precious cream”) was already playing in the background and the musicians joined in spectacularly. After all, it’s clear that the three members of the band Sandra Sillamaa, Jalmar Vabarna and Tõnu Tubli are young musicians with enough experience to know what to do with the audience to make everyone feel good. Using audio effects was really interesting and made the band sound even psychedelic but at the same time preserved the spirit of traditional music. Vabarna’s 12-string guitar sounded particularly juicy, Tubli’s drums seemed to frizzle and Sillamaa played the Estonian bagpipe, the Jew’s harp and the saxophone as if charming cobra. - Müürileht
