""Contemporary lyrics-with-a-bite!""

From Music News Nashville:

"Piller shows her vocal restraint on the opening piece, an old-timey ballad I Cross That Bridge, following with perhaps her best performance, on the melodic That’s Easy For You To Say – a song about a woman’s struggle with moving on from a failed relationship. . . .

"Mandolin, dobro and fiddle give a breezy, care-free feel to the title cut and first single off this record, and the artist goes on to prove that a simple lyric can be enough, on her own composition Easy To Love: 'You get the bigger picture/You make it all so clear/And when I’m lost you show me how/To get to there from here.'

"Country rock ballad Mercy has a dreamy, Beatles-esque chorus, while Room With a View stands out because of its contemporary lyrics-with-a-bite: 'Down the hall, third floor southwest corner/Of a no-tell motel in Daytona/There’s a velvet Elvis, there’s a naked lady/Hanging up on a calendar since 1980/Cigarette burns on the gold shag carpet/Smell of cheap perfume/Doesn’t matter much that it doesn’t have cable/It’s a room with a view." - Music News Nashville

""Sings with such sincere passion!""

Sandra Piller - Days Like These (CD, Shady Hill, Pop)
Some underground music fans may wonder why we would even bother to cover an album like this. After all, Sandra Piller is an artist who is making music in order to make money. And while we're certainly aware of this...we're also aware of the fact that there are occasionally a few artists who manage to sustain integrity while they're earning a living. And we feel that Piller is one such artist. Sure, the tracks on Days Like These have so much polish that it hurts...but Sandra sings with such sincere passion that we can't help but be drawn into her musical universe. She's got a lovely voice...and her music seems to come straight from her heart. Days Like These combines some of the best elements from country music from the 1950s and 1960s...before the genre became the well-oiled money making machine that it is today. Twelve soft pop/country tracks here including "I Cross That Bridge," "Days Like These," "Mercy," and "Everybody Makes Mistakes." - LMNOP

Bio

The heart of country music is just that: heart. "Country music is about genuine emotion for the joys of being alive," says Sandra Piller, and you can feel that emotion in everything she sings. A fan of pop country stars like Crystal Gayle, Patsy Cline and Kenny Rogers, she embraces songs that communicate directly. "I love almost all country music," Sandra says, "but it was the music of The Judds that inspired me to sing it."

Raised in Southern California, she has the vocal talent and life experiences of a Nashville veteran. “I was brought up in the city, but I must have picked up my Mom’s southern accent because people thought I sounded ‘country.’ Plus, I really enjoy the storytelling aspect of those songs.”

Sandra scored her first single song contract as a songwriter with legendary Sun Records icon and country music producer Cowboy Jack Clement, and for the past several years she has collaborated with Nashville songwriting pro Jane Bach (Reba McEntire, Collin Raye, Jo Dee Messina).

Sandra is dedicated to songs that portray life, love and fresh starts. "I relate to the passion in country songs," Sandra says, and her tunes let listeners know that we’re all on the same path together, "living and loving and moving through days like these."

With the 2011 release of the album "Days Like These" (Shady Hill Records), Sandra Piller is reaching out to everyone with ears to hear and a heart to feel.
