Bio

Playing original rock influenced by many great 60s and 70s rock bands and songwriters, they have been filling up the bars in Ottawa since they got together in February of 2004. Vocalist Stephen Muss, guitarist Luke Chambers, bassist Riel Boire, and drummer Louis Fortin, all of Sandstorm have been heating the Ottawa music scene with their brand of guitar driven melodic rock ever since, and have played such venues and events as Café Dekcuf, Vanfest 2006, Mavericks, Babylon, as well as Zaphods all to maximum capacity crowds, prompting bar managements to constantly demand that Sandstorm schedule return dates. The tones and stylings of vocalist Stephen Muss have been compared to that of Allan Doyle as well as Adam Duritz yet those comparisons dont adequately describe the depth of passion Steve exudes. The band's guitar sound has a decidedly late 60s feel with the scorching solos and explosive power chords of guitarist Luke Chambers. The rhythm section comprised of Riel Boire and Louis Fortin finish the product with solid rolling bass lines and passionate percussion. The songs are extremely personal; they reach into the listener, grab them, and take them to the places and times and emotional states where the songs were written. An unforgettable performance etched into the memory of those who are there. Experience it for yourself. Cheers.
