Biography

An unusual talent and personality best describes the gift and life of Sandy Hosey. As a world traveler, Sandy has a special God-given gift to communicate effectively to audiences of varied ethnic backgrounds. Her purpose in life is to bring unity and hope to people of all races and backgrounds. Her dynamic voice and stage presence will invite you to enter into her song with her. As a young girl growing up in Memphis, Tennessee, Sandy’s unique singing talent was recognized by a local radio disc jockey, A.C. "Moohaw" Williams. She soon became a member of the famous “Teen-Town Singers,” a part of W.D.I.A., the first Black-Staffed Radio station in the country heard across eight states. That group produced many top named singing artists, entertainers, circuit court judges, lawyers, professors, state representatives, business owners, etc.

While a sociology student at Le-Moyne-Owen College, the door opened for Sandy to travel worldwide with the “Holiday Inn Messengers,” a good-will ambassador singing group sponsored by the International chain of Holiday Inns. The Messengers were a closely knitted group whose tight, driving sound combined the best of pop, top-40, blues, country, patriotic and gospel tunes. Their performances were in a new dimension and their sound was in tune with only one audience...The Brotherhood of Mankind.

While in this group, she sang for benefits with people such as Bob Hope and Danny Thomas at the St. Jude Shower of Stars, as well as opened State Fair Shows with Kenny Rogers, Johnny and June Cash, Mac Davis and other celebrities.

While a part of the Messengers, she performed at county and state fairs such as the Ozark Empire, Missouri State Fair, Mid-South Fair, DuQuoin Fair, Texas State Fair and the Florida State Fair. She also performed at Knotts Berry Farm in 1974 as well as the Mid-South Sport, Boat, Travel and Vacation Show.

As a part of the group she made many appearances at Callaway Gardens, Georgia and the San Diego Zoo. Other engagements found Sandy singing for Senator John Glenn’s Inaugural Ball soon after they had performed for the seven original Astronauts' first reunion, on the Mike Douglas TV Show in 1974 along with guest Pat Boone and family, before 1.5 million people in Mexico City as well as on two nationwide telecast in that country, for the National Governor’s Convention, and throughout Europe and Asia entertaining American soldiers for the U.S. Department of Defense. All of these experiences helped prepare Sandy for what God has called her to today and that is to sing from her heart to yours.

Singing country music is now an evolution of what is in her heart to bridge the gap that exist between the two gospels and that of country music itself. She did it many years ago and now it is in her heart to do it again. Sandy says “I’m especially excited that the CD will lead many of my fellow Afro Americans to add country music to the rich musical heritage we share.”

Sandy is married to Sr. Chaplain Russell Hosey and has been happily married since July of 1976. They have four children and two grand daughters. They have been Co-Directors for Billy Graham’s Christian Radio Station KAIM in Honolulu, Hawaii. Five years later they served as Directors of Evangelism for the Illinois District of the Assemblies of God. God then led them to Charlotte, NC where they served as TV personnel, staff and area pastors for Heritage Church and Ministries.

In 1996, Sandy became Founder and Director of a unique urban program called Camp-A-Kid Encounter (C.A.K.E.). It is primarily directed toward children of jail and prison inmates. Sandy believes that no matter what the parent(s) has done or what society may say concerning the parent(s), that their children should be given a chance to make it in this life. Together with other children who are experiencing some of the same questions and difficulties they are directed in a positive direction.

In February, 1997, a lot of things changed for Sandy and her husband Russ. Television Fore-Christ Ministry that was seen on the Inspirational Network, the Angel Network and many other networks around the country and the world ask them to come and be a part of the broadcasting team. They were with that program for 3 years. That program had 17 Million viewers at any given time of viewing.

On June 14, 2003 Sandy became a chaplain and received a Certificate of Completion from (IFOC) the International Fellowship of Chaplains, Inc. certification. She is now Executive Director of the IFOC/CC3 Chaplain Corps a community based chaplaincy group in North Carolina. She is among a group of trained chaplains in the area of CISM and FEMA training. She is also a chaplain with the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team which went down to New Orleans soon after Katrina. Her gift of music was also a gift to provide comfort and peace to the desperate people still remaining in that are

Mama Be Back She's gone coutnry

Written By: 'Sandy Hosey, Russ Hosey, Eugene Hash

Mama Be Back, She’s Gone Country

There use to be a time. There use to be a Place. Where Mama use to steal away to pray. Times were so much simpler way back then. It was a country place and a country time,
where God showed up on the county line. Much in this old world’s changed since then.

Well we moved to the city and things got hard. Things around us and things in her heart.
Mama hungered and cried for the times of Old. Where God showed up right on time. changed things that would blow your mind. Things unseen that have never be told

You see mama be back she’s gone country. To a secret place where there’s glory. Never took a phone nor a TV. All she took was a B.I.B.L.E. She said, “This modern world won’t cheat me, Only Jesus will keep me”. Mama be back O yes, she’s gone country.

She found a room where she could pray. And put a sign on the door said go away. If anybody ask you just where I am.

Just tell them, I'm where I can function. Tell them mama's in the land of unction. Just tell them mama be back, she's gone country.

Mama be back she’s gone country
To a secret place where there’s glory. Never took a phone nor a TV
All she took was a B.I.B.L.E
She said, “This modern world won’t cheat me, Only Jesus will keep me”
Mama be back O yes, she’s gone country.

It’s a brand new day, sorrows gone away, Joe got heal, Lucy got filled

Brand new day, Papa got a raise,
Johnny got saved
Revival's in the land

(Mama Be Back), “Take me to the water”, (Mama Be Back), “Take me to the water”, (Mama Be Back), “Take me to the water”.

(Old Preacher Man, “I baptize you in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost)

Mama be back she’s gone country
To a secret place where there’s glory. Never took a phone nor a TV
All she took was a B.I.B.L.E

She said, “This modern world won’t cheat me, Only Jesus will keep me”
Mama be back, O yes, she’s gone country. (Repeat)

Spoken:

I remember the day when my mama when home to be with the Lord,
As she laid there on her sick bed, I can still hear her say,
“Lord teach me to pray”, then she closed her eyes and slipped away.
If anyone asks where mama is today I’ll look them square in the eyes and with a smile, I’ll say, "Mama be back, O yeah, she's gone Country"

She's gone country.

He Saw The One

He Saw the One © Sandy Hosey

V1
As she slipped behind Him
She was trembling with fear
As she fell down at His feet
And told the whole story
How for twelve years she bled
With nothing left for her instead
Until she heard about His love
For the whole wide world

V2
Jesus said, “Who touched me”, the disciples said, “Come on”
There are many folks around you
Heading in and out they come
Virtue flowed from His body into her now victory’s won
While they saw the many, I’ll tell you He saw the one
While they saw the many, I’ll tell you He saw the one.

Chorus:
Oh He saw the one, before they begun. Wrapped in pain, bruised and broken. Satan thought he had won. When they saw the Lord
They believed in one accord
And received God’s only Son
I tell you He saw the one

V3
Jesus kept on His journey
Setting all the captives free
Black, White, Red & Yellow,
You see He died for you and me
He will leave the ninety nine, go and rescue the one. While they saw the many I’ll tell you He saw the one
While they saw the many, I’ll tell you He saw the one.

Bridge:
Alas and did my Savior bleed,
And did my sovereign die?
Would he devote that sacred head
For such a worm as I.

Chorus/tag “While they saw the many, I’ll tell you He saw the one.”

V1.
My God’s precious beyond measure
His blessings are out of sight
When I think of His goodness and what He’s done. I want to dance, dance all night. He gives me a reason for living. Now I’m living in Canaan Land. Cause when I pray, believe and receive from Him
I tell you, my God, He’s THE MAN.

Chorus
He’s a mighty good God in the daytime.
A mighty good God in the night.
He’s the one who takes my burdens and lift them.
And sends them out of sight.
He’s the God of pure living water
On His word I will stand.
Cause when I pray, believe and receive from Him.
I tell you, my God, He’s THE MAN.

V2
He’s not a man that He should lie
On His word He’ll not repent.
When I stand on His promise and trust in Him.
His word He’ll not relent.
He’s the God of pure living water.
On His word I will stand.
Cause when I pray, believe and receive from Him.
I tell you, my God, He’s THE MAN.

He’s Still In The Fire
By Tim Hill

My mama read a story
(from) about the bible long ago
About Shadrack, Meshack and old Abendigo
How the wicked king commanded
they be thrown into the flame
Because they would not bow
and deny their father's name

Then the wicked king he stood high
upon the balcony so tall
When he looked in
he was shocked by all the things he saw (cause)
He thought that he would find them
lying dead upon the ground
but instead of three he counted four (All)
up walking all around

Then I said Mama, wait a minute
there's one thing that I must know
if three went in and three came out
then where'd the fourth man go

Then I never will (shall) forget (it)
as Mama danced across the floor (and)
These are the words I heard her say
while walking thru the door

Well he's still in the fire
and he's walking in the flame
and he'll be there to help you
when you call upon His name
And he can still deliver
by his almighty power

While here below
it's good to know
He's still in the fire

He's still in the fire
and he's walking in the flame
and he'll be there to help you
when you call upon His name
And he can still deliver
by his almighty power

While here below
it's good to know
He's still in the fire

While here below
it's good to know
He's still in the fire

Now my friend you may be destined
to face life's hottest flame
But I'm here to tell you now you can go
Thru in Jesus’ name
There no fire to hot can hurt you
you'll come out alive to tell
Yesterday, today, forever
He’s still alive and well

Still in the fire
and he's walking in the flame
and he'll be there to help you
when you call upon His name
And he can still deliver
by his almighty power

While here below
it's good to know
He's still in the fire (Repeat)

Amazing Grace

Written By: Tim Hill

Amazing Grace how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost but now I’m found
Was blind but now I see

Through many danger, toils and snares
I have already come
T’was grace that brought me safe thus far
And grace will lead me home

When we’ve been there ten thousand years
Bright shinning as the sun
We’ve no less day to sing God praise
Then when we first begun.

I Call It Home

Written By: Squire Parsons

Somewhere beyond the grave there’s a land
Where Jesus went to prepare by His own hand.
And for the saved by grace there is a resting place.
And in a few more days it will be mine.

Chorus

Some call it heaven, (But) I call it home.
Some call it dreaming, (Well) let me dream on.
Some call it paradise, somewhere beyond the skies.
Some call it heaven, (But) I call it home.

Someone (Some folk say) said you can’t go back home again. And things will not ever be as good as they’d been.
(Well) I’ve got good news for you, when heaven comes into view,
One glimpse and you’ll know the best is yet to come.

Chorus & Tag

Some call it paradise, somewhere beyond the skies.
Some call it heaven, (But) I call it home.

Salvation Medley: Love Lifted Me, Blessed Assurance, Old Rugged Cross

Written By: Public Domain

I was sinking deep in sin, far from the peaceful shore,
Very deeply stained within, sinking to rise no more,
But the Master of the sea, heard my despairing cry,
From the waters lifted me, now safe am I.
Love lifted me! Love lifted me!
When nothing else could help
Love lifted me!
Love lifted me! Love lifted me!
When nothing else could help
Love lifted me!

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
O what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
born of his Spirit, washed in his blood.

Refrain:

This is my story, this is my song,
praising my Savior all the day long;
this is my story, this is my song, praising my Savior all the day long.

On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross,
The emblem of suffering and shame;
And I love that old cross where the dearest and best
For a world of lost sinners was slain.

Refrain

So I’ll cherish the old rugged cross,
Till my trophies at last I lay down;
I will cling to the old rugged cross,
And exchange it some day for a crown.

Cause Love Lifted
I said His Love Lifted
It was Jesus Love lifted Me

I Will Glory in the Cross

Written By: Dottie Rambo

verse 1.

I boast not of works nor tell of good deeds
For naught have I done to merit His grace
All glory and praise shall rest upon Him
So willing to die in my place

Chorus:
I will glory in the cross, in the cross
Lest his suffering all be in vain
I will weep no more for the cross that He bore (but) I will glory in the cross

verse 2

My trophies and crowns, my robes stained with sin
Were all that I had to lay at His feet
(I was) Unworthy to feast (eat) from the table of life
‘Till God made provision for (you and) me

Chorus:

(and) I will glory in the cross, in the cross
Lest his suffering all be in vain
(and) I will weep no more for the cross that He bore (but)
I will glory in the cross

I will weep no more for the cross that My Jesus bore
(but) I will glory in the cross Hallelujah

I will glory in the cross
