"Benefit Concert June 19th to raise money for Frontier Horizon"

Toronto, ON – June 17, 2009 – Partners DareDen Theatre Inc, a registered Canadian charity, Hearts Open Toronto and Sound Grove Inc. have teamed up with Toronto musician Ruthann Springle and 10 other artists, including singer-songwriter Sandy MacGillivray, for a Fundraiser concert at the Great Hall Friday June 19th 2009 to support a hosting program that will have 5 orphans from the Ukraine visit Toronto in July. - Ian Provis, DareDen Theatre Inc., Scarborough Ontario

PRESS RELEASE 06/01/09: Benefit Concert "Summer Songs of Hope" on June 19th at The Great Hall in Toronto, Canada will feature a performance by Sandy MacGillivray. The concert will raise money to expand Frontier Horizon’s orphan hosting program to Canada, bringing five Ukrainian orphans to Toronto. Partners DareDen Theatre Inc, Hearts Open Toronto, and Sound Grove Inc. have teamed up with Toronto musician Ruthann Springle and 10 other artists, including singer-songwriter Sandy MacGillivray, to make Toronto a new host city for the Frontier Horizons Ukrainian Summer program.

Sandy MacGillivray's singer/songwriter talents are varied and include smooth R&B, country, and pop. Sandy most recently performed at Freetimes Cafe in Toronto. She has also performed at Holy Joe's in Toronto, The Caledon Folk Festival in Caledon as wellas The Broken Spoke and The Blue Bird Cafe in Nashville.

Sandy has been very fortunate to have a number of singers interested in recording her songs. Kristal Barrett, winner of the 2008 Media Idol Contest, recorded three of Sandy's songs on her debut album, which featured "Texas Child", "Help Me Find It Tonight", and "Rhythm of Love".

Christie Hall Healey, wife of guitar legend Jeff Healey, recorded six of Sandy's song on her debut CD.

Morgan Stone, one of Canada's top, new country sensations recorded "Love Is Gonna Get You" and "Angel Inside" on her new CD.

Dance hit artist Sarina Paris, famous for “Look at Us Now” and “Just About Enough” is currently recording 4 of Sandy's songs, arranged as dance/pop tunes, for her new cd to be released Fall 2009.

Sandy just finished her own recording project, produced by "A Touch of Love" Pet Spas. This endearing CD is full of fun and heartwarming songs all about dogs.

Sandy was born and raised in Toronto, Canada and currently resides in the Beaches area of Toronto with her husband and 3 teenagers. Her personal interests include supporting World Vision (www.WorldVision.ca), a charity special to Sandy and her family. They have enjoyed sponsoring 2 children over the last 15 years. Sandy also had the honor of having one of her songs, "Why On Earth", chosen to be on the 2005 World Vision CD compilation.
