Bio

San Juan Hill is a collection of diverse sounds and rhythms, as well as a rotating collective of musicians, vocalists, and dancers, of diverse nationalities who have blessed the bands eclectic
sound and vibe through out the years.
Founded by Spanish Harlem native, (NYC), Frank Diggz.
He is also the Bass player, Musical Director and Visionary who has combined innovative, original material with intense crowd moving performances, poured carefully into a pot of ingredients which include: Funk/ Soul, Latino Caribbean, Jazz, Brazilian, Hip Hop and House music.
All served with a side dish of Soultry vocals sung in Spanish, English, and Portuguese - the inspired styles of music of the
African Diaspora that continue to developed the bands sound.

San Juan Hill is an adopted name, which actually represents 2 places in history that directly influenced and affected each other.
The First being a hill near Santiago,
(a city in Cuba), which determined the North American victory in the Spanish American war of 1898.
The Second is one of the first N.Y.C., African American neighborhoods located on
the upper west side of Manhattan, and named “San Juan Hill” in
commemoration of the Heroic efforts of African Americans (a.k.a. Buffalo Soldiers), in the Spanish American War that came to reside in the area. The neighborhood has produced such great musicians, such as; Thelonious Monk, Benny Carter, to name a few.

San Juan Hill pays homage and gives name to the lives and struggles of ALL people, with spiritual, uplifting messages, that brings audiences an alternative option to the sometimes negative vibe of today’s pop music; thus making music that’s good to the Ears, but even better for the Soul!!
