Bio
San Pedro is an Israeli rock band.
Yotam Pur (vocals), Daniel Malachi (guitar),Eli Cohen (bass) and Eyal Satat (drums) had formed the band in late 2008. During this time, San Pedro had won the title “best
alternative rock band of 2009” in an annual competition taking place in Tel Aviv. Since then, they
performed in numerous concerts and festivals, gathering a strong fan base, which follows them across
Israel. Recently, the band had released their debut album-“Ambitions”. The album contains each
member’s wide range of musical influences, providing the listener with a unique, refreshing experience.
San Pedro’s debut album- AMBITIONS, recorded at Anova studios and produced by Baruch Ben-Izhak, a
well-known producer in Israel (Rockfour, Ninet , Electra), was mastered by Andy Ross (Tory Amos, Martin
Gretch)
and was released in November 2011.
As the band released their premiere single "Whirlwind" from the album,
the band was named as "One of the most promising bands of the year" by "City Mouse" magazine.
the follow up single "Ambitions", got the attention of many critics and magazines all over israel,
and it helped the band to finally get to the mainstream circle with the entry to the "Galgalatz" Playlist (main radio station in israel)
The "Ambitions" single also caught the attention of the great Gary Lucas (Jeff Buckley) who comparing yotam's voice to the legendary Jeff Buckley.
San Pedro are now working on their second album.
