Bio
San Ruben is Nacional and For Abel singer/writer Robert Armstrong's new project. Rob's songwriting and performing has earned distinction from luminaries such as Universal, BBC, Lo Recordings and The Guardian. Teaming up with guitarist Jonny Forsyth, bass player Jon Gillespie and drumer Simon Mckenry and drawing on an eclectic clutch of influences, San Ruben bring a Northern English influence to a guitar soaked Americana backdrop. Booked to play a host of shows in East London over the Autumn and Winter months, San Ruben's focus on the essence of songwriting and melancholic, yet sharp lyrices has already caught the eye of BBC Radio 1 and UK labels. The band have recorded their first self-titled EP with former The Smiths engineer Kenny Jones in Alchemy Studios, London.
