Bio

THE STORY SO FAR

They, they, they.
Isn't that what bios are all about? So lets fall in line. Relations. Relations are
the constant bind, the thread that keeps us all together and the one thing
pushing San Sebastian forward when others find themselves motionless. At
their core San Seb are two sets of brothers, Greg and Mike, Sean and Brodie.
And the best drummer, yet most careless driver in Ontario: Teddy Rumbles.
Cultivating their bond in the only place that matters, the only place where
friendships and music have come together for as long as anyone can pretend
to remember, the pub.

All five members of San Seb were born and raised in working class Hamilton,
Ontario but would sooner steal a drink than talk about steel. Countless hours
spent together playing live and building those oh so important Relations paid
off when MuchMusic tapped San Sebastian for a shot on the popular Canadian
documentary TV series Disband Discovered. Once the door was open a crack
San Seb kicked it down and haven't looked back. Taking advantage of the
national recognition the MuchMusic platform provided, San Seb began touring
with a reckless ambition and swagger only the tightness of family can
produce. The single "Young Youth" off their EP of the same name enjoyed the
distinction of being named iTunes single of the week as well as having their
music videos for "Wake Up" and "Young Youth" both spend several weeks
charting in the top ten on the MuchMusic countdown.

San Sebastian have shared the stage with an eclectic and large list of artists
including White Lies, Dom, Arkells, and Tokyo Police Club to name a
few. They've honed their unforgettable live show, plying their trade
everywhere with everyone. From coast to coast they've made the sweatiest
dives rock and the loudest arenas roll. They've played to villages in Africa,
they've recorded in Amsterdam, and now they're back and ready to do it all
again. San Sebastian's debut album RELATIONS is loaded with catchy garage
pop tunes thematically weaving relations, in their many forms, front to back.
Beginning with, "Baby" the defiant call for drinks in the face of abandonment,
ending with "Somebody", the broken, yet optimistic, chance to start the
process anew despite all attempts to sabotage, desperately save, disregard,
and romanticize every relation in between.

RELATIONS was produced throughout the past year by Grieg Nori (7 tracks)
and Jose Miguel Contreras (3 tracks). Both successfully captured San
Seb's distinct blending of memorable melodies with a little bit of Hamilton dirt.
RELATIONS is an exciting next step as San Sebastian gears up to see old
friends, make new ones, and drink your beer. Cool? Cool.
