Galo Rivera the leader is as artistically genuine and unique as music gets. Finding a consuming joy in his instrument (guitar), he plays with a passion and zeal that is obvious to the average listener, while at the same time a welcome refreshment for the seasoned musician. Galo is definitely one of the most respected Latin Rock guitar players in USA. His music influences have been: Santana, Malo, Mandrill, Ohio Players, Graham Central Station, Earth Wind and Fire, Chic Corea, Al DiMeola, and Jimi Hendrix.
After coming to the mainland from Puerto Rico in July 4th 1968, Galo found early renown touring, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, South and Central America with various bands and on his own. Playing on stages like The Madison Square Garden NYC, Lincoln Center NYC, at the age of 21. Throughout his teenage years and up to today, Galo continues to hone his skills as a musician, recording engineer and a record producer.Galo's guitar tone, heart, energy and feel really expresses the same soul fullness and heart penetrating leads like the band Santana brings to the stages. (Galo says "no cookie cutters here") He also demands the same high energy level and one accord from his band.
