"STL New Album AL FILO"

Not only tango, electronic music and jazz are the elements that San Telmo Lounge chooses to design the landscape of their new sonorous universe called AL FILO. In this, their fourth album, the group shows a wide variety of influences that add to their usual R&B cool sound, subtle airs of the Andean South America, a touch of Central European folklore and even a cumbia flirt, everything put together by the tango omnipresence. This 13 tracks album, composed mostly by the guitarist and producer Martin Delgado, features important guests like Juan Subirá (Bersuit) and Adrián Abonizio, whose voices contribute to “Tristezas de Monoblock”, a harsh account of the life in the large cities after 2001. Palo Pandolfo and Coki De Bernardis sing together “Tour de France”, a possible soundtrack of a black cinema film in Rosario and the outstanding presence of Pablo Mainetti in bandoneón, introducing us to the “imaginary floydean” Lágrima viva. Also remarkable is the participation of Fabian Gallardo in Promesas nocturnas, pop song with strong influences of the English rock of the 70s, with a strings ending which ressembles Enio Morricone's music. AL FILO, proposes an arrival to a land where the generic limits are diluted in an unknown space, but at the same time are full of evocations. In this work San Telmo Lounge reaffirms their instrumental capacity and a taste of fine arrangements, but with a sound slightly away from the so-called “electronic tango” (although there are machines in several tracks) to offer mainly a more organic sound contributed by the acoustic bass and drums. AL FILO is the new and well-known album of SAN TELMO LOUNGE, a group that surprises by the result obtained in the search for new and enigmatic borders, always on the edge of the unknown. - CEA
