Biography

As one of the most decorated female track and field Olympians of all time, Sanya Richards-Ross has earned five Olympic medals (including individual 400-meter gold at the London 2012 Olympic Games) and eight world championship medals. Prior to Sanya’s 2012 Olympic glory, she bounced back from an injury shortened 2010 by winning the 2011 4x400m Relay in South Korea claiming her record fifth career World Championship Gold Medal. Sanya’s a two-time recipient of both the IAAF World Female Athlete of the Year Award and the Jesse Owens Award. A passionate humanitarian, Sanya created the Fast Track Program benefitting children in need, helping to enhance reading and mathematics skills, develop students’ readiness for standardized tests, promoting active and healthy lifestyle through sports, and enhance social skills with regard to professionalism and employability. Sanya’s message of hard work, perseverance and integrity inspire students to dream for gold in the game of life!
