“I sense that the Lord would say that He is going to bring the two of you into team ministry…..I see coming in the days ahead for you is team ministry…..God has called you as one and you’re going to minister as one and it’s gonna be powerful.” Those words spoken by Lynn DeShazo in September 1998 prophesied of something that, at the time, we could not imagine. That night we stood in front of our congregation looking around at a church full of people that we thought far more likely and certainly far more qualified than the two of us to do God’s work. In the years since we have come to understand that God is in the habit of using the most unexpected and seemingly least likely, least qualified people to achieve His purposes

Sapient Dove is that team ministry; Dave and Tracey Grimes, husband and wife, frail, falling, failing human beings inexplicably called to use their lives and their gifts to lead people away from the false trappings of temporary worldly pleasures and the equally deceptive doctrines of man-made religion and to point them to the one true God. Already in churches and coffee houses, and even in a local prison, the messages gleaned from hard-learned life lessons, scriptural study and even direct Divine inspiration have served to minister to hurting souls and to both encourage and challenge people regardless of where they are in their own personal spiritual walk.

Last year Paul Poulton of Cross Rhythms said of “Imagine”, “There are moments of magic on this, their debut album” comparing the lead vocal (Dave) to Rufus Wainwright. Christian Byler at Jesus Joint. COM added “like Styx, The Eagles, Bad Company and Kansas all rolled up”; Dave Bowman at CD Baby commented “the sound is back….a real quality album” and Judah Spears of the band Judah put it simply “cool musicianship…...5 stars!!!” Since the production of that first album as the ministry has grown and changed the music has evolved. The current sound is more likely to bring to mind Billy and Cindy Foote with it’s acoustic duet style. We are excited to embark on this new leg of our journey and pray that God will continue to lead us and that we will remain attentive enough to hear and humble enough to listen.

Statement of Purpose
Ephesians 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets: and some, evangelists; and some pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.

To entertain, enlighten, encourage and challenge fellow Christians and lead them to a deeper walk with the risen Lord, Jesus Christ and to share His message of hope with those who don't yet know Him.
